odoo-manage

odoo-manage is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from dannyg-sys/odoo-mcp-server. It costs 105 tokens per session (1,545 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A skill for managing a local Odoo development environment. Odoo is business software that can be extended with modules and run against different project databases.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to start, stop, or restart Odoo; install or update modules; switch databases; inspect logs; and locate source, add-on, and configuration directories.
Why use it?
It gathers common server, module, database, configuration, and log tasks into one development workflow.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00105 $0.01545
Opus 5 $0.00053 $0.00772
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00309
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00154

Measured 4d ago against content hash b871ad1ed53c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

odoo-manage scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Odoo dev environment management

This skill drives the local Odoo development environment through a small CLI, odoo-cli (__ODOO_CLI__). The CLI shares its implementation with the odoo MCP server (same core.ts), including the smart log filtering — so you get the same concise, error-focused output without the MCP server needing to be connected.

This is the Claude Code counterpart to the odoo MCP server (which is kept for Claude Desktop). Prefer this skill in Claude Code; the odoo MCP can be left disabled here to keep the context lean.

Layout you are working with

  • Base (fixed): ~/odoo — holds the active odoo.conf and one odoo-<project>.conf per project. (The engine manage_odoo.sh is installed globally, not in the base.)
  • Sources live inside the base, _-prefixed (so they stand out from the unprefixed project addon symlinks): _odoo18/ (CE 18), _enterprise18/ (EE 18), _odoo19/ (CE 19), _enterprise19/ (EE 19), plus _venv18/, _venv19/, and _data/.
  • 18 vs 19 is per-project, not a separate tree. The active odoo.conf selects it via the ; odoo_src = … / ; python_venv = … markers and its addons_path. Switching project (below) is what changes the running version. Today only verita runs on 19; the rest run on 18.

So "switch project" = swap which odoo-<project>.conf is active. There is no version flag to set — picking the project picks the version.

How to run it

Call the CLI with Bash. It prints a concise result to stdout; diagnostic [Executing]/[Success] lines go to stderr.

node __ODOO_CLI__ <command> [args] [options]

If __ODOO_CLI__ is missing (fresh checkout), build it first: cd __REPO_DIR__ && npm install && npm run build.

Commands

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
