ethora-agent-flows

ethora-agent-flows is a skill for Claude Code from dappros/ethora-mcp-server. It costs 69 tokens per session (697 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for writing fixed conversation scripts for Ethora AI agents. The scripts define steps such as messages, questions, choices, and endings instead of leaving every reply to the model.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for menus, appointment requests, intake questionnaires, surveys, and lead-capture forms in Ethora agents.
Why use it?
It makes structured conversations predictable and validates the script before it is saved, helping prevent malformed flows from being used by an agent.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00069 $0.00697
Opus 5.5 $0.00028 $0.00279
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00139
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00070

Security

Grade A, and why

ethora-agent-flows scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 61 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Authoring Ethora agent flows

A flow is a deterministic script an agent follows. Set it with the flowsYaml field on ethora-agent-create or ethora-agent-update.

The server compiles and validates the YAML on save. An invalid script is rejected with code FLOWS_INVALID and per-problem details, and nothing is stored, so a bad draft cannot break a live agent. Read details rather than guessing at the next attempt.

Call fetch with id doc:agent-flows for the authoritative reference before writing anything non-trivial. It is maintained next to the compiler, so it does not drift. What follows is the shortest thing that works.

version: 1
flows:
  start: # reserved: runs when a conversation opens
    steps:
      - say: "Hi! How can I help?"
        buttons:
          - { label: "Book an appointment", goto: appointment }
          - { label: "Something else", end: true }
  appointment:
    description: "Collect an appointment request"
    trigger: { phrases: ["appointment", "book a visit"] }
    steps:
      - ask: "Which location suits you?"
        id: location
        options: [Downtown, Westside]
      - ask: "Best phone number to reach you?"
        id: phone
        type: phone
        retry: "That doesn't look like a phone number, could you check it?"
      - say: "Thanks, we'll call {phone} to confirm a slot at {location}."
      - end: true

The rules that catch people out

  • start is reserved. Include it and it fires when a conversation opens, which is how you get an opening menu. Without it, a flow is entered by trigger.phrases or from a button.
  • Buttons are authored here, as buttons: on a say step or options: on an ask step. There is no separate tool for them. Tapping one posts its value as an ordinary message.
  • ask stores into a slot named by its id. Refer to it later as {id} in any text. type validates the answer and retry is what the agent says when validation fails.
  • when: "slot == value" on any step skips it when the condition is false.
  • Keep say text short. It renders as chat bubbles, not a page.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ethora-agent-flows is a skill published in the GitHub repository dappros/ethora-mcp-server (6 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 69 tokens to every session and 697 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-18.
