paper-assemble

paper-assemble is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from DataLab-atom/EvoAny. It costs 42 tokens per session (794 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A tool for combining LaTeX paper sections into a complete research paper with references and consistency checks. LaTeX is a text-based system for typesetting scientific documents.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build a manuscript from chapter files, apply a template, include a bibliography, and check the assembled paper.
Why use it?
It removes the manual work of assembling separate introduction, method, experiment, and related-work files.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00042 $0.00794
Opus 5 $0.00021 $0.00397
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00159
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00079

Security

Grade A, and why

paper-assemble scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/paper-assemble — Paper Assembly

E: Paper assembly — combines D-layer chapter files into a complete LaTeX paper, integrates bibliography, and performs consistency checks.

Purpose

After D-layer chapters (intro, related, method, experiment) have been generated and written to research/paper/sections/, this skill assembles them into a full paper by merging with a LaTeX template.

Usage

/paper-assemble [--forest <forest_id>] [--venue <venue_name>]

Examples:

  • /paper-assemble --forest exp-2024-run-01 --venue NeurIPS
  • /paper-assemble --venue ICML

Prerequisites

  1. At least the Method section has been written (research/paper/sections/method.tex)
  2. A LaTeX template exists at research/paper/template.tex OR you want a minimal template auto-generated
  3. research/refs/references.bib contains the relevant citations

Behavior

Step 1: Check Available Sections

  1. Check research/paper/sections/ for available chapter files:
    • intro.tex — Introduction
    • related.tex — Related Work
    • method.tex — Method
    • experiment.tex — Experiments
    • conclusion.tex — Conclusion (optional)

Step 2: Load Template

  1. If research/paper/template.tex exists, use it
  2. Otherwise, generate a minimal template

Step 3: Assemble Paper

The assembler:

  1. Reads each section file
  2. Substitutes \input{sections/<name>} placeholders in the template
  3. Integrates bibliography references
  4. Performs consistency checks

Step 4: Consistency Checks

The assembler automatically checks for:

  • Citation consistency — all cited keys appear in references.bib
  • Figure references\ref{fig:...} has a corresponding \includegraphics
  • Notation consistency — math notation usage across sections
  • Format compliance — template structure integrity

Step 5: Write Output

  1. Output path: research/paper/paper.tex
  2. Report any consistency issues (warnings/errors)

Consistency Issues

The assembler will flag these types of issues:

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

paper-assemble is a skill published in the GitHub repository DataLab-atom/EvoAny (37 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 42 tokens to every session and 794 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
