time-lock

time-lock is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Day1Labs/OpenAva. It costs 18 tokens per session (228 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A skill for turning commitments into reminders, calendar events, and follow-up notifications. It distinguishes flexible tasks from events that happen at a fixed time.

In plain words
What is it for?
For setting reminders, scheduling calendar events, confirming them with notifications, and creating repeated nudges.
Why use it?
It helps keep deadlines and promises from being lost in chat history. It also avoids guessing when a date or time is unclear.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00018 $0.00228
Opus 5 $0.00009 $0.00114
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00046
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00023

Security

Grade A, and why

time-lock scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Time Lock

Use this skill when a user says things like "remind me", "before Friday", "follow up", or "do not let me miss this".

Core Principle

Turn intent into reliable system-level triggers so important commitments are not lost in chat history.

Workflow

  1. Extract commitment, deadline, and completion condition.
  2. If timing is ambiguous, ask one precise follow-up question.
  3. Choose execution path:
    • reminders_add for flexible tasks.
    • calendar_add for fixed-time events.
  4. Add optional reinforcement:
    • system_notify for immediate confirmation.
    • cron for repeated nudges.
  5. Summarize what was created (title, due time, channel).

Safety Rules

  • Never create entries with guessed dates when user intent is unclear.
  • Do not silently overwrite existing plans.
  • Confirm timezone assumptions in the final response.

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
