react-development

react-development is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from dayfinggg/openai-codex-agent-skills. It costs 32 tokens per session (231 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for building and refactoring React and Next.js user-interface components, including how they fetch data, render, and compose with other components.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to change component behavior, improve data loading or rendering, design component APIs, and investigate bundle or performance issues.
Why use it?
It helps keep changes compatible with the application's existing component interfaces and framework setup while avoiding unnecessary performance changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00231
Opus 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00092
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00046
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00023

Security

Grade A, and why

react-development scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Establish the React and framework versions, runtime boundary, changed components, and requested behavior. Preserve the existing component and application contracts.

Read host integration once for the imported rule bundles.

Task Read
Implement React or Next.js behavior, fetch data, investigate rendering, or optimize a bundle Performance and implementation rules
Design component composition, compound components, state placement, or public props Composition patterns

Each procedure retains its individual rules and full compiled guide. Load the specific rules that govern the changed behavior rather than reading both complete guides for every edit.

Use both procedures when a component API redesign also changes rendering or data flow. Use web-design-guidelines separately when the task requires framework-independent accessibility or interface review. Do not introduce optimization machinery without a relevant performance or correctness reason.

Files

What ships with it

60 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

react-development is a skill published in the GitHub repository dayfinggg/openai-codex-agent-skills (8 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 32 tokens to every session and 231 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-30.
