market-inspector: Skill for Codex

.agents/skills/shadcn-usage/SKILL.md

shadcn-usage is a skill for Codex from dcosodev/market-inspector. It costs 70 tokens per session (368 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A design and development guide for the Market Inspector React/Next dashboard using shadcn/ui and Tailwind CSS. It covers layout, accessibility, interface copy, loading and error states, and visual consistency.

In plain words
What is it for?
Building or reviewing dashboard pages, components, styles, UI tests, screenshots, and design documentation. It also guides responsive layouts and honest empty, stale, and error states.
Why use it?
It gives developers shared rules for changing the dashboard without creating inconsistent components, layouts, or user messages.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is dcosodev/market-inspector's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on market-inspector itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything market-inspector configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00070 $0.00368
Opus 5 $0.00035 $0.00184
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00074
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00037

Security

Grade A, and why

shadcn-usage scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

shadcn Usage

Use this skill for dashboard UI and design-system work.

Design contract

Read DESIGN.md before changing interface behavior, visual hierarchy, product language, or layout. Keep UI decisions aligned with the existing shadcn/Tailwind style instead of inventing a parallel component system.

The dashboard should feel like a professional market-monitoring console:

  • clear status and source labels;
  • compact cards and tables;
  • readable charts;
  • calm alert language;
  • honest loading, empty, stale, and error states;
  • responsive behavior across mobile, tablet, laptop, and desktop.

Components

Use existing shadcn primitives and local UI components before adding new abstractions. Keep Client Components focused on interaction and rendering; keep provider and credential logic on the server.

Do not reintroduce removed portfolio UI unless the specification changes.

Copy and tone

Use user-facing language that is professional and product-like. Avoid comments or UI copy that sound like an agent speaking privately to the developer.

Generated analysis must remain informational. Use labels such as "AI brief", "notable movement", "source", "last updated", and "demo quota" honestly.

States and accessibility

For any new UI surface, define:

  • loading state;
  • empty state;
  • error or partial-failure state;
  • keyboard and screen-reader behavior where interactive;
  • responsive layout behavior.

Use Playwright coverage for meaningful viewport or interaction changes.

Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
