A command-line tool for controlling and inspecting macOS screens, windows, menus, and applications.

For taking screenshots, listing windows and apps, clicking, dragging, typing, using keyboard shortcuts, running automation scripts, and extracting text from images.

It lets scripts identify what is on screen and perform actions without relying on manual clicking, while also checking required macOS permissions.

Peekaboo

Peekaboo is a full macOS UI automation CLI: capture/inspect screens, target UI elements, drive input, and manage apps/windows/menus. Commands share a snapshot cache and support --json/-j for scripting. Run peekaboo or peekaboo <cmd> --help for flags; peekaboo --version prints build metadata.
