revit-bim

revit-bim is a skill for Claude Code from Demolinator/revit-mcp-plugin. It costs 91 tokens per session (1,561 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A natural-language assistant for designing and analyzing building models in Autodesk Revit, a program used to create detailed digital building plans. It supports architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and interior designers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Creating and changing walls, floors, columns, structural framing, MEP systems, dimensions, tags, sheets, and drawings. It also helps query the model, inspect statistics, and calculate material quantities.
Why use it?
It removes the need to carry out many Revit modelling and analysis tasks manually through the interface. You can describe the intended building work in ordinary language.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00091 $0.01561
Opus 5 $0.00046 $0.00781
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00312
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00156

Security

Grade A, and why

revit-bim scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Revit BIM Design

Create, modify, and analyze building designs in Autodesk Revit 2024/2025/2026/2027 through natural language. All building professionals — architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and interior designers — describe what they want, and elements are created automatically via 48 MCP tools connected to the live Revit model.

Core Principles

  • Think like a building professional. Follow real construction logic: structure before enclosure, enclosure before finishes.
  • All tools accept millimeters (mm). The server converts to Revit internal feet automatically.
  • Query before creating. Check available family types and current model state before placing elements.
  • Batch where possible. Create tools accept arrays — group similar elements into a single call.

Building Design Sequence

Follow this order when designing a building from scratch:

  1. Levels — Define floor-to-floor heights (create_level)
  2. Grids — Establish the column grid layout (create_grid)
  3. Columns — Place structural columns at grid intersections (place_family)
  4. Beams — Connect columns with structural beams (create_structural_framing)
  5. Exterior walls — Building envelope along the perimeter (create_line_based_element)
  6. Interior walls — Room partitions (create_line_based_element)
  7. Openings — Doors and windows placed on walls (place_family)
  8. Floors — Floor slabs at each level (create_surface_based_element)
  9. Roof — Top enclosure (create_surface_based_element)
  10. Documentation — Dimensions, tags, sheets, schedules (create_dimensions, tag_walls, create_sheet, create_schedule)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
