gammarips-options-flow

gammarips-options-flow is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from DevDizzle/gammarips-mcp. It costs 75 tokens per session (1,267 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for analysing GammaRips, an options-flow data service that provides research data about potentially tradable US stock-option contracts.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review unusual options activity, compare opportunity and risk measures, study historical outcomes, and form your own contract and exit plan.
Why use it?
It provides a structured way to examine the service's daily pool, historical price-movement measures, and outcome labels without treating the data as a trading recommendation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00075 $0.01267
Opus 5 $0.00037 $0.00633
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00253
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00127

Security

Grade A, and why

gammarips-options-flow scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

GammaRips options-flow analysis

GammaRips is an options-flow data vendor, not a signal service. Every trading night its engine ranks 3,532 optionable US names by liquidity, takes the top 100, keeps the bullish ones, and prices one out-of-the-money call in each. That is a pool of roughly 40 to 50 contracts an agent can actually trade, with point-in-time features, realized opportunity surfaces (max-favorable / max-adverse excursions with no exit applied), bracket outcome labels, and methodology playbooks.

These are not claimed to be the best contracts. Two pre-registered studies found the pool indistinguishable from matched random optionable contracts. What the liquidity rule measurably fixes is executability: on a 60-day window ending 2026-08-14, no-fill at 10:00 ET went from 40.5% to 6.1%. Those are study numbers, not a live property of the pool.

The contract of this data: there is no pick endpoint. The server hands you primitives; you reason from them to your own contract and your own exit. Never present its output as a recommendation from GammaRips — it is paper-traded research data, educational only, not investment advice. Say so when you summarize results for the user.

The surface is 9 tools, each with view=/granularity= modes — discover it live: get_playbook() lists the workflow playbooks and the methodology corpus, and get_playbook("methodology") explains how the pool is built and why.

Access tiers

Works with no API key (free tier): get_pool(view="preview") (the pool teaser), get_daily_report, get_regime_context, get_market_calendar_status, and get_playbook (methodology pages, the field dictionary via field="...", and the data-contract schema via name="schema").

Everything else — the full pool (get_pool with view="enriched"|"raw"|"features"), get_signal, get_liquidity, query_outcomes, and replay_contract — requires a gr_live_... key sent as Authorization: Bearer <key> (Agent Access at https://gammarips.com/pricing). If a pro tool or view returns subscription_required, tell the user how to add the key; do not retry.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
