pulumi-component

pulumi-component is a skill for Claude Code from dfridkin/clawops. It costs 0 tokens per session (377 once invoked), scanned A, original, MPL-2.0.

A coding helper for adding Pulumi ComponentResources, which are reusable groups of cloud resources managed as one unit.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding a new infrastructure component under `src/pulumi/components/`, connecting it to the provider, and checking it with Pulumi mocks and project tests.
Why use it?
It provides a project-specific structure for creating, exporting, connecting, and testing a new component. This reduces missed wiring and incorrect resource type tags.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00377
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00188
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00038

Security

Grade A, and why

pulumi-component scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

/pulumi-component

Add a new Pulumi ComponentResource to src/pulumi/components/.

Steps

  1. Choose a category from the URN convention: infra, build, net, app, state.

  2. Create src/pulumi/components/<name>.ts with this pattern:

    import * as pulumi from '@pulumi/pulumi'

    export interface MyComponentArgs {
      // All inputs are pulumi.Input<T>
    }

    export class MyComponent extends pulumi.ComponentResource {
      public readonly myOutput: pulumi.Output<string>

      constructor(name: string, args: MyComponentArgs, opts?: pulumi.ComponentResourceOptions) {
        super('clawops:<category>:MyComponent', name, {}, opts)

        // Create child resources with { parent: this }

        this.myOutput = pulumi.output('...')
        this.registerOutputs({ myOutput: this.myOutput })
      }
    }

  3. Export from the component file.

  4. Wire into the provider adapter's program function.

  5. Write tests in tests/pulumi/:

    • Use pulumi.runtime.setMocks() (see src/pulumi/CLAUDE.md)
    • Type tags must be exact: aws:ec2/instance:Instance not aws:ec2:Instance
  6. Run pnpm typecheck && pnpm test.

Rules

  • Per .claude/rules/pulumi.md: all inputs pulumi.Input<T>, all outputs pulumi.Output<T>.
  • Call this.registerOutputs(...) at the end of the constructor.
  • No credentials in Automation API envVars (R6).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pulumi-component is a skill published in the GitHub repository dfridkin/clawops (2 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MPL-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 377 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
