Use the Obsidian Second Brain MCP server as durable project memory. Treat repo files as code truth and Obsidian as project-history truth.
Core Behavior
Before meaningful work in a linked repo:
- Call
project_memory_startwith the current repo path. - Read the returned compact memory pack before editing.
- If the project is not linked, tell the user to run
obsidian-second-brain-mcp init.
During work:
- For bugs, use
project_memory_log_bugonce the bug is understood enough to name, then update with fix and verification. - For features, use
project_memory_log_featurewhen intent, scope, implementation, or verification becomes clear. - For durable choices, use
project_memory_record_decision. - If repo facts and Obsidian facts conflict, report the conflict and ask which source should win.
Before final response after meaningful work:
- Call
project_memory_close_session. - Include outcome, changed files, verification, blocked items, open questions, next actions, and deployment status.
- Ask whether to deploy/release when deployment is relevant and not already decided.
Writing Rules
- Append, do not rewrite history.
- Keep entries timestamped and concrete.
- Do not store secrets.
- Do not invent project context if notes are missing.
- Use Things/task systems for commitments when available; use Obsidian for durable context and rationale.
