cf-plan

cf-plan is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from dinhanhthi/coding-friend. It costs 85 tokens per session (4,605 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A planning workflow for turning a requested software change into an implementation plan. It supports normal, fast, hard, autopilot, and inline modes for different levels of complexity and automation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when planning or building features, fixing multi-step problems, setting up systems, or designing architecture. It can create a plan file or keep the plan in chat, and can optionally automate later phases.
Why use it?
It helps clarify the work, discover relevant code and memory, plan rollbacks, and track progress before implementation. The modes let you choose between speed, depth, and hands-off execution.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00085 $0.04605
Opus 5 $0.00043 $0.02302
Sonnet 5 $0.00017 $0.00921
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00460

Measured 5d ago against content hash 5402c4c8ff80, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

cf-plan scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLI Requirement: OPTIONAL — Uses the memory MCP from coding-friend-cli for fast indexed search and storage. Without the CLI: falls back to grep over docs/memory/ and direct file writes. Full functionality preserved, slower memory recall. See CLI requirements.

Modes

Mode Flag Effect When to use
Normal (none) Full workflow Default
Fast --fast (alias --quick) Skip discovery + planner. Never writes a plan file — stays in chat, tracked with an inline checklist. Multi-phase → switch to normal (writes file). With --auto, always write. No human overview unless --gui. Clear, single-module, additive
Hard --hard Extra discovery, deeper exploration, rollback planning Breaking / multi-module
Autopilot --auto Orthogonal — after Step 7 approval, run all phases (auto review + fix Critical/Important + commit per phase, no between-phase prompts). Combines with any mode. Hands-off after approval
Inline --inline (--no-file) Orthogonal — skip Step 6 (no plan file). Plan in chat only; progress tracked with an inline checklist. Combines with --fast/--hard. Incompatible with --auto. One-off, no on-disk artifact
Model --model <alias> Orthogonal — pin cf-planner at Step 3. Does not affect cf-explorer, cf-implementer, or cf-plan. Stronger brainstorm model

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
