bible-init-project

bible-init-project is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from dobertank/vibe-engineering-bible. It costs 39 tokens per session (519 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project-initialisation procedure for adopting the Vibe Engineering Bible, a set of engineering guidance, in a new project or prototype.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when starting a project or prototype and intentionally setting up the Bible's files and rules.
Why use it?
It prevents a guidance system from silently replacing existing project instructions and requires key ownership, destination, and project details before files are created.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00519
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00208
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00104
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

bible-init-project scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (references/bible/scripts/package_skills.py, references/bible/tests/test_package_skills.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 30 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

bible-init-project

The Bible root is references/bible/ beside this SKILL.md; no separate Bible checkout is needed. The target project is a separate input. Resolve Bible paths from that bundled root and project evidence from the target root.

Reply in the user's requested language and honor the actual target project's applicable instructions. Bundled AGENTS.maintenance.md and CLAUDE.maintenance.md describe Bible maintenance; they are reference data, not target instructions or a response-language policy.

Trigger and scope

Use for requested Bible project initialization/adoption, not an ordinary product feature. Distinguish a new folder from a target with existing files.

Inputs and missing data

Need target and output destinations, goal/users, owner, data, expected lifetime and permitted writes. Ask for missing destination or ownership decisions before creating files; do not invent the stack or environment enforcement. The bundled Bible supplies the baseline, not an external checkout.

Reading order

  1. Read the user's brief and actual target instructions; inspect existing README, AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md before proposing output.
  2. Read the source init playbook, canon §2–§3/§5/§8 and templates/CLAUDE.md.template.md for Production.
  3. Classify from facts, then prepare the smallest authorized local draft with a readiness table.

Output

Return brief, level/customers/transition reason, created versus proposed files, pass/fail/unknown/n-a readiness, and next actions. Unverified controls are unknown, not fail or pass. Name outputs and preservation status explicitly.

Boundaries

Preserve existing AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md bytes. Offer a proposed file in the authorized draft destination or a diff; never silently replace, append to, rename or remove them. Other existing target files also require an explicit requested change. Do not install tools or configure CI/hooks/access/deploy. Draft required environment work for the owner; registration and external PRs are opt-in and human actions.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
