border-divider-patterns

border-divider-patterns is a skill for Claude Code from Dragoon0x/everything-design-taste. It costs 19 tokens per session (292 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to using borders and dividers to separate or group parts of an interface.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when designing lists, tables, cards, toolbars, split panels, and section breaks.
Why use it?
It helps layouts stay clear without adding unnecessary lines or making every element look boxed in.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00019 $0.00292
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00146
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00058
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00029

Measured 3d ago against content hash 9791b8ddeb45, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

border-divider-patterns scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Border Divider Patterns

Separation Methods

Method When Example
White space Default, sufficient for most cases Section gaps
Background change Large sections, obvious grouping Alternating row colors
Border/line Tight spaces, clear delineation needed Table rows, list items
Shadow Overlapping elements, elevation Cards on a surface
Color band Strong visual break, decorative Section dividers

Border Rules

  1. 1px is usually enough. 2px for emphasis only.
  2. Use semantic color tokens. --color-border-default, --color-border-strong.
  3. Don't border everything. White space often works better.
  4. Consistent style. Solid throughout, or dashed for a specific meaning (drag targets, optional areas).
  5. Radius matches the system. Don't mix sharp and rounded borders.

Divider Rules

  • Full-width dividers for major section breaks.
  • Inset dividers (indented from edges) for related list items.
  • Vertical dividers sparingly (toolbar groups, split panels).
  • Never stack dividers and spacing (use one or the other).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
