find-dropbox-content

find-dropbox-content is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from dropbox/dropbox-ai-plugins. It costs 59 tokens per session (489 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A read-only search guide for finding relevant files and folders in Dropbox, an online file-storage service. It covers searching, browsing folders, and checking metadata before reporting matches.

In plain words
What is it for?
Locating documents or folders, browsing named locations, checking file details, and presenting the best matches with paths, dates, and confidence notes.
Why use it?
It helps narrow a broad Dropbox request to likely source files without changing, sharing, restoring, or downloading content.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00059 $0.00489
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.00244
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00098
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00049

Measured 5d ago against content hash 61ec760efb61, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

find-dropbox-content scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Find Dropbox Content

Use this skill to locate relevant Dropbox files and folders without changing anything.

Tools

  • search
  • list_folder
  • get_file_metadata

Workflow

  1. Clarify the search target only if the user request is too broad to act on.
  2. Use search for broad keyword, title, file type, or natural-language searches.
  3. When search returns a cursor and more results are needed, continue with search using the cursor only.
  4. Use list_folder with recursive=false when the user names a folder or wants to browse a location.
  5. When list_folder returns a cursor and more folder results are needed, continue with list_folder using the cursor only.
  6. Use get_file_metadata for strong candidates before presenting a final recommendation.

Output

Return the best matches first. For each result, include:

  • Name
  • Object type: file or folder
  • Path or stable identifier
  • Modified time when available
  • Why it matched the request
  • Any ambiguity or confidence caveat

Safety

Do not create, copy, move, delete, restore, download, or share content. If the user asks to take one of those actions after finding content, switch to the relevant Dropbox skill.

Good Triggers

  • "Find the Q4 planning deck in Dropbox."
  • "Search Dropbox for onboarding docs."
  • "What files are in this folder?"
  • "Find recent PDFs about the launch plan."
  • "Where is the customer contract?"

Do Not Use When

  • The user already provided an exact file and wants its content inspected. Use inspect-dropbox-file.
  • The user explicitly asks to create a shared link. Use share-dropbox-content.
  • The user asks to add viewers or share directly with named recipients. Explain that recipient-sharing is unavailable until the required MCP tools are exposed.
  • The user asks to restore or recover content. Explain that recovery is unavailable until the Dropbox restore tool is exposed.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
