imagerouter-mcp

imagerouter-mcp is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Duylamneuuu/imagerouter. It costs 32 tokens per session (375 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A skill for using a local ImageRouter service to find image-prompt templates and generate one image through supported image providers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to search for prompt options, recommend a template, generate an image, or save the result to a local path when a durable file is requested.
Why use it?
It gives a defined process for choosing between prompt templates and immediate generation while preserving attribution and reference-image requirements.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00375
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00187
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00038

Security

Grade A, and why

imagerouter-mcp scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ImageRouter MCP companion skill

This is an optional companion skill. It is shipped for agents to copy or install manually; ImageRouter does not install it automatically and this file contains no prompt data.

Workflow

  1. Use search_prompt_templates when the user wants options, style references, provenance or a template recommendation. Keep the result's attribution and respect needsReferenceImage.
  2. Use generate_image with prompt_mode: "auto" when the user wants an immediate result. It performs local search, optional English planning, enhancement and image generation in one call.
  3. Use prompt_mode: "template" with a returned template_id when the user selected a specific template.
  4. Use prompt_mode: "raw" when the user explicitly asks for byte-for-byte prompt preservation.

Leave provider as auto unless the user requests a provider. Do not expose credentials or put prompts into logs, files or activity summaries. Only set output_path when the user wants a durable local artifact.

Connection

Configure the local ImageRouter server as an MCP server with either:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "imagerouter": {
      "command": "npm",
      "args": ["run", "mcp:stdio"],
      "cwd": "C:/absolute/path/to/ImageRouter"
    }
  }
}

or the local Streamable HTTP endpoint at http://127.0.0.1:20127/mcp with the bearer token shown in ImageRouter Settings.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

It adds 32 tokens to every session and 375 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
