just-works: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/plantuml-diagramming/SKILL.md

plantuml-diagramming is a skill for Claude Code from Dynokostya/just-works. It costs 65 tokens per session (2,728 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guide for creating and editing PlantUML text files that describe diagrams. It covers choosing diagram types, syntax, layout, styling, abstraction level, and common mistakes; PlantUML is a tool that turns text into diagrams.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when writing `.puml`, `.plantuml`, or `.pu` files, generating diagrams from descriptions, or selecting and styling a diagram for a system or process.
Why use it?
It helps diagrams match the project's existing conventions and remain readable for their intended audience. It also directs developers to more specific guidance for sequence, component, activity, class, state, and other diagrams.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00065 $0.02728
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.01364
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00546
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00273

Measured 7d ago against content hash 6bd604e1855a, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

plantuml-diagramming scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

PlantUML Diagramming

Match the project's existing conventions. When uncertain, check for existing .puml files to infer the local style -- naming, layout direction, theme usage, and abstraction level. Check for shared includes (!include) or a project theme file. These defaults apply only when the project has no established convention.

References index

Deep-dive material lives alongside this file. Load the reference only when you need it.

  • references/sequence-diagrams.md -- participants, arrows, activation, grouping, notes and dividers.
  • references/component-deployment.md -- component and deployment diagrams, container types, interfaces.
  • references/activity-diagrams.md -- basic activity flow, swimlane partitions, stereotype coloring rules.
  • references/class-diagrams.md -- relationships table, full example, visibility modifiers, stereotypes, packages.
  • references/state-diagrams.md -- lifecycle modeling, key syntax, concurrent regions.
  • references/other-diagram-types.md -- use case, mindmap, gantt, WBS, ER, JSON/YAML visualization.
  • references/styling.md -- modern <style> blocks, built-in themes, color formats, layout direction.
  • references/preprocessing.md -- !include, !procedure, !function, variables, conditionals, loops.

Never rules

These are unconditional. They prevent broken or unreadable diagrams regardless of project style.

  • Never omit @startuml/@enduml delimiters -- PlantUML silently fails or produces garbage without them. Every .puml file must start with @startuml and end with @enduml (or the equivalent for the diagram type: @startmindmap/@endmindmap, @startgantt/@endgantt, etc.).

  • Never use cryptic abbreviations or internal codenames as labels -- use plain English that any team member understands. AuthSvc means nothing to a product manager; Authentication Service does. Labels are for humans, not compilers.

  • Never create diagrams with more than ~15 elements without grouping/nesting -- overcrowded diagrams defeat the purpose. Use package, rectangle, node, cloud, or together to group related elements. If you cannot group meaningfully, split into multiple diagrams.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
