dx-ticket-analyze

dx-ticket-analyze is a skill for Claude Code from easingthemes/dx-aem-flow. It costs 43 tokens per session (2,572 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A ticket investigation tool that examines an Azure DevOps or Jira issue and identifies the source files and other assets related to it. Azure DevOps and Jira are systems teams use to track development tasks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it with a ticket URL, issue key, or identifier to produce a developer reference of the relevant files and assets.
Why use it?
It removes the need to search a large codebase manually before starting work on a ticket.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.02572
Opus 5.5 $0.00017 $0.01029
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00514
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00257

Security

Grade A, and why

dx-ticket-analyze scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Defaults

Read shared/provider-config.md for provider detection and tool mapping.

Read .ai/config.yaml:

  • tracker.provider (or scm.provider for backward compat) — ado (default) or jira

If provider = ado:

  • Organization: scm.org
  • Project: scm.project

If provider = jira:

  • Jira URL: jira.url
  • Project Key: jira.project-key

You receive an ADO ticket URL/ID or Jira issue key, extract all relevant info, and produce a structured developer reference showing every file and asset they need.

1. Parse Input

Accept any of these formats:

  • Full ADO URL: https://{org}.visualstudio.com/{project}/_workitems/edit/{id}
  • Full ADO URL: https://dev.azure.com/{org}/{project}/_workitems/edit/{id}
  • Full Jira URL: https://{host}/browse/{KEY-123}
  • Jira issue key: KEY-123 (matches /^[A-Z]+-\d+$/)
  • Short numeric: {id}

Extract:

  • Work Item ID — numeric ID from ADO URL
  • Issue Key — from Jira URL or key format
  • Project — from URL path if present. Default: read from .ai/config.yaml scm.project (ADO) or jira.project-key (Jira)

If the argument is purely numeric, check tracker.provider to determine if it's an ADO ID or a Jira issue number (prepend project key).

If no argument provided, ask the user for the ADO URL, Jira URL, or ticket ID.

2. Fetch Ticket

Use ADO MCP to get the work item:

mcp__ado__wit_work_item
  action: "get"
  project: <extracted project>
  id: <work item ID>
  expand: "Relations"

If provider = jira

mcp__atlassian__jira_get_issue
  issue_key: "<issue key>"

Map Jira fields (see shared/provider-config.md Field Mapping):

  • Title — fields.summary
  • State — fields.status.name
  • Assigned To — fields.assignee.displayName
  • Iteration Path — fields.sprint.name
  • Tags — fields.labels[]
  • Parent — fields.parent.key and fields.parent.fields.summary
  • Children — fetch via mcp__atlassian__jira_search with JQL parent = <issue_key>
  • Issue links — from the response's fields.issuelinks[] (replaces ADO relations)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
