Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00041 | $0.01728 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00016 | $0.00691 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00008 | $0.00346 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00004 | $0.00173 |
Grade A, and why
env scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 24d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 162 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
When to invoke
Use this for private credential installation, environment setup, missing API keys, and requests such as “cycle the Neo4j password” or “install this token on the API service.” Inspect names and presence without displaying values.
INSTALL puts a replacement value at a destination. ROTATE changes the credential at its authority. This command implements installation only; a rotation request includes a separate, user-confirmed authority step.
Workflow
Use the shared helper and credential-entry reference.
These steps apply to Claude Code, Codex, Pi, and Prime. Ask only for missing
non-secret information or destination selection. Never request the value in
chat or a structured question, pass it in command arguments, read the clipboard,
or offer visible input. Values stay in the private prompt and helper process.
Replace the single-quoted placeholders below before executing a command; escape
embedded single quotes as '\''.
1. Classify: install or rotate first
For INSTALL, establish the key name and whether the user already has the replacement. For ROTATE, name the credential authority and the exact account, resource, and rotation page or action. Resolve that location from the user's context or the authority's current documentation; do not infer an authority from a variable name alone. Examples include the selected Aura instance's password-reset action, the selected bot in BotFather, or a provider's token management page. Tell the user to rotate there and keep the replacement private. Stop until the user confirms that authority step is complete. Confirmation is about completion only, never the replacement value.
2. Probe private input
This command takes no plan or user-supplied value and opens no window:
python3 bin/secret-entry.py probe
Retain mode, verified, and any reason or sanitized code. A dialog
result has verified: false: compilation checks that the scripting addition
loads, but does not prove a window can appear. A positive probe may still be
followed by a dialog failure. For an explicitly requested terminal path, use
the same command with --input terminal.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

env is a skill published in the GitHub repository egregore-labs/egregore (293 stars, last pushed 9d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 41 tokens to every session and 1,728 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
