Written for Claude Code: user-invocable in frontmatter. Also seen: mentions .claude-plugin.

Runs only inside its plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else. Install the plugin, not this.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00064 $0.00783
Opus 5.5 $0.00026 $0.00313
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00157
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00078

Security

Grade A, and why

cpv-scaffold-agent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

cpv-scaffold-agent

Overview

Adds a new agent to an existing plugin. The scaffold lands at <plugin-path>/agents/<agent-name>.md with valid frontmatter so the plugin still passes validate_plugin immediately. Loaded dynamically via cpv-the-skills-menu, reached via the Create → Add agent menu branch.

Prerequisites

  • uv on PATH
  • Target plugin path with .claude-plugin/plugin.json
  • Kebab-case agent name (e.g. my-agent)
  • A short description and the agent's tool list

Instructions

  1. Pick a kebab-case agent name ([a-z][a-z0-9-]*).
  2. Write a one-line description that says what the agent does.
  3. List the tools the agent needs (e.g. "Read, Bash, Edit").
  4. Run add_component.py --type agent with the plugin path, name, description, and tools.
  5. agents/ directory is auto-created if missing.
  6. After scaffolding, optionally validate the plugin to confirm the new agent passes.

Copy this checklist and track your progress:

  • Agent name kebab-case
  • Description written
  • Tools list defined
  • add_component.py --type agent executed
  • agents/<name>.md created
  • validate_plugin --strict re-run

Output

  • A new file at <plugin-path>/agents/<agent-name>.md.
  • Frontmatter emits name, description, and (when --tools is given) tools. Optional fields like model, maxTurns, and skills are NOT scaffolded — add them by hand if the agent needs them (the minimal stub still passes validate_plugin).
  • Existing files are NEVER overwritten unless --force is passed.

Error Handling

Error Resolution
Name not kebab-case Use only [a-z0-9-], starting with a letter
File exists Re-run with --force only if you mean to overwrite
Target not a plugin Verify .claude-plugin/plugin.json at the path
Agent fails to dispatch Run validate_agent --strict on the new file

Examples

uv run "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/add_component.py" /path/to/plugin \
--type agent --name my-agent --description "Agent summary" --tools "Read, Bash"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
