record-and-replay-a-routine

record-and-replay-a-routine is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from empir3hq/empir3-bridge. It costs 85 tokens per session (560 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A way to record a browser routine in the user's Chrome and replay it later with different values. Recordings are stored locally and can represent tasks such as signing in, downloading a report, or filling a repeated form.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for recurring logins, exports, report downloads, and forms with changing values such as email addresses.
Why use it?
It removes repeated manual browser work while keeping the routine available for later runs. Recording and replay are disabled unless the user enables the required permission.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00085 $0.00560
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00224
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00112
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00056

Security

Grade A, and why

record-and-replay-a-routine scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Record and replay a routine

Recordings are saved locally on the user's computer and replayed in the Bridge's Chrome. Recording and replay tools are off by default.

1. Check the permission

bridge_safety_status must show recordings enabled. If not, ask the user to turn Recording on in the Bridge console (http://localhost:3006/console, Permissions pane) and stop until they have.

2. Record

  1. browser_status, then open the starting page with browser_tab_open or browser_navigate.
  2. browser_record_start. A failed start is not an active recording; never call stop to manufacture a saved result.
  3. Perform the routine — the user in the Bridge's Chrome, or you with browser_snapshot, browser_click_ref, browser_type_ref and browser_press. Recorded steps keep persistent selectors and verified Bridge selections.
  4. browser_record_stop with a clear name. It returns the file name and the number of actions. Confirm both with the user.

3. Replay

  1. browser_recordings lists what is saved and which engine made each entry.
  2. browser_play with the recording name. Pass variables for values that change, for example {"EMAIL": "[email protected]"}; the recording must have been made with those placeholders.
  3. Verified recordings run as the page becomes ready, stop at the first failure and return a receipt per step. Read the receipts of the completed steps before deciding anything. Legacy recordings accept a speed multiplier.

4. When a replay stops

Observe the current page with browser_snapshot or browser_screenshot before touching anything. Fix the one failed step by hand if the user wants, then re-record if the site changed. Never replay the whole routine again to repair one step; a login or a purchase would run twice.

Recordings stay on this computer. Mention where the Bridge keeps them (the Bridge data folder under the user's home directory) when the user wants to back them up or delete one.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
