In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for economic overviews, country comparisons, inflation or employment analysis, yield-curve reviews, interest-rate trends, trade data and economic calendars.
Why use it?
It provides a defined way to combine economic indicators, interest-rate data and event schedules when assessing broader economic conditions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00046 $0.01261
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00630
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00252
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00126

Security

Grade A, and why

macro-dashboard scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill: macro-dashboard

Purpose

Build a comprehensive macro-economic dashboard using EODHD data — combining macro indicators across countries, Treasury yield curves, and economic events calendar for a complete economic picture.

Trigger

Activate when the user asks for:

  • Macro-economic overview or dashboard
  • GDP, inflation, unemployment data
  • Interest rate trends or yield curve analysis
  • Economic calendar or upcoming events
  • Country economic comparison
  • "How's the economy?"
  • Trade balance or current account data
  • Central bank policy context

Workflow

  1. Determine scope — country/countries and indicators of interest
  2. Fetch macro indicatorsmacro-indicator for GDP, CPI, unemployment, etc.
  3. Fetch Treasury ratesust/yield-rates, ust/bill-rates, ust/long-term-rates, ust/real-yield-rates
  4. Fetch economic eventseconomic-events for upcoming releases. Always pass an explicit --from-date/--to-date window (e.g. today → +14d) and --country — without them the API returns arbitrary far-future events with empty fields. Field mapping: event name = type (NOT event), forecast = estimate (NOT forecast), plus previous/actual (actual is null until released).
  5. Calculate trends — YoY changes, trends, inflection points
  6. Compile dashboard

Available Macro Indicators

Key indicators available via macro-indicator endpoint (codes below are verified valid — passing an unknown code returns Indicator or Country are Not Found or silently falls back to GDP):

  • gdp_current_usd — GDP in current USD
  • gdp_growth_annual — Annual GDP growth %
  • inflation_consumer_prices_annual — CPI annual %
  • unemployment_total_percent — Unemployment rate %
  • real_interest_rate — Real interest rate % (EODHD has no nominal policy-rate indicator)
  • net_trades_goods_services — Trade balance / net exports (absolute USD, not % of GDP)
  • merchandise_trade_percent_gdp — Merchandise trade as % of GDP (trade volume, not balance)
  • debt_percent_gdp — Central government debt as % of GDP
  • population_total — Total population
  • Many more (50+ indicators per country)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

macro-dashboard is a skill published in the GitHub repository EodHistoricalData/eodhd-claude-skills (37 stars, last pushed 14d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 46 tokens to every session and 1,261 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
