neqsim-ageing-life-extension-screening

neqsim-ageing-life-extension-screening is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from equinor/neqsim-community-skills. It costs 82 tokens per session (3,908 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A screening analysis of failure-history records for a repairable equipment population. It tests whether failures are becoming more or less frequent, fits a failure-rate trend, projects future failures, and compares maintaining equipment with replacing it.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to study ageing or reliability improvement, forecast failures to a target year, and estimate when replacement may become more economical than continued maintenance.
Why use it?
It turns dated corrective-maintenance records into evidence for a life-extension decision without pretending to be a qualified remaining-life assessment.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.03908
Opus 5.5 $0.00033 $0.01563
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00782
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00391

Security

Grade A, and why

neqsim-ageing-life-extension-screening scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (examples/basic_ageing_life_extension_screening.py, src/ageing_life_extension_screening/__init__.py, src/ageing_life_extension_screening/model.py, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Ageing and Life-Extension Screening

Use this skill when a maintenance history has to answer a life-extension question: is this equipment getting worse, and will it still do its job in year N? It turns a list of corrective-failure dates into a trend verdict, a fitted failure-intensity model, a projection to a target year, and a maintain-versus-replace crossover.

When to Use

  • A life-extension or lifetime-programme decision must be justified from failure history.
  • A user asks whether failures are becoming more frequent (ageing) or less frequent (reliability growth).
  • A projection is needed of how many failures to expect between today and a required end-of-life year.
  • A maintain-versus-replace comparison is needed at screening level.
  • A recurring failure has to be characterised across many years of records.
  • A study (tie-back, economics, emissions, capacity increase, concept selection) needs a production or operating horizon: establish the technical life basis first (see below).
  • A question asks how long an installation or equipment population can operate, or what limits technical life.

Do NOT Use For

  • A single non-repairable item's time-to-failure distribution — that is a lifetime (Weibull) problem, not a point-process problem.
  • Structural fatigue or corrosion remaining-life — those need a damage model, not a failure-count trend.
  • A qualified life-extension assessment or regulatory submission. This is screening input to one.

Technical Life Basis (establish this before any study that uses a horizon)

Any study that needs a field life, production horizon, tie-in tail, NPV window or remaining-life statement (tie-back, debottlenecking, capacity increase, concept selection, emissions or economics roll-up) must first establish an explicit technical life basis for the host and for each life-limiting equipment population. Do not assume a horizon; read it, state its source, and carry it into the study as an input with a data-gap flag when it is missing.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
