neqsim-stage-gate-project-timeline

neqsim-stage-gate-project-timeline is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from equinor/neqsim-community-skills. It costs 102 tokens per session (1,949 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An educational planning guide for oil and gas field-development decisions. It places exploration, appraisal, design reviews, construction, shutdowns, and first production on a shared timeline.

In plain words
What is it for?
Building stage-gate timelines, comparing early and just-in-time host upgrades, scheduling life-extension decisions, and preparing portfolio Gantt charts and capital-spending calendars.
Why use it?
It prevents a plan from assuming that a project can start producing or adding capacity immediately. It shows when decisions and spending must happen in relation to real project stages.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00102 $0.01949
Opus 5.5 $0.00041 $0.00780
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00020 $0.00390
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00195

Security

Grade A, and why

neqsim-stage-gate-project-timeline scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 19d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (examples/basic_timeline.py, src/stage_gate_project_timeline/__init__.py, src/stage_gate_project_timeline/model.py, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Stage-Gate Project Timeline

Use this skill whenever a screening study would otherwise let a prospect produce, a host modification add capacity, or a host run past its technical life "whenever the optimiser wants". Real projects pass stage gates and are tied in at turnarounds; a decision taken today earns nothing for years. The skill turns that into explicit timelines so the value model, the ullage allocation and the report all use the same calendar.

When to Use

  • Tie-in portfolio and timing (which prospects, when): the earliest first-oil year per prospect comes from its maturity, not from the first year with ullage.
  • Host modification / debottleneck options with capex: the capacity is only available after study + DG1-DG3 + execution, at a shutdown; capex falls in the execution years, study cost earlier, opex after availability. Compare "ASAP" with "just in time for the first prospect that needs it".
  • Host technical life (e.g. a technical-lifetime programme ending in year N with a pool of not-yet-sanctioned life-extension actions): when must the extension be decided, and what does it cost by year.
  • Any report that needs a Gantt of the recommended portfolio and a capex calendar.

Inputs

  • Prospect: name, status (undrilled | discovered | appraised | sanctioned), optional phase_years overrides, decision_year, earliest_start_year (hard floor such as a licence milestone).
  • Host project: id, name, capex_musd, study_cost_musd (default 5 % of capex), opex_musd_per_year, study_years (DG0), concept_years (DG1-DG3), execution_years, requires_shutdown (default true), earliest_decision_year.
  • Life extension: programme_end_year, pool_by_year {year: MUSD} of unsanctioned actions, lead_years (default 5).
  • Optional turnaround calendar (default biennial from 2027).

Outputs

  • prospect_timeline: phases, first_production_year, exploration_year, sanction_year.
  • project_timeline: phases, available_year, sanction_year, timing (asap | just_in_time), cost_by_year_musd.
  • life_extension_timeline: phases, decision_deadline, cost_by_year_musd.
  • portfolio_plan: Gantt rows for the chosen prospects (development phases slide to the chosen first oil, the exploration well stays at its earliest year - information first), the selected host projects scheduled just in time, the life-extension window, a capex_calendar_musd and DG3 / deadline milestones.
  • plot_gantt: PNG (matplotlib, optional dependency).
  • discounted: present value of a cost calendar.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
