paperlab-neqsim-api-claim-verification

paperlab-neqsim-api-claim-verification is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from equinor/neqsim. It costs 56 tokens per session (537 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of paperlab_neqsim_api_claim_verification, Apache-2.0.

A verification aid for checking NeqSim API references in books and technical examples against Java source code, tests, notebooks, and setup instructions. An API is the set of classes and methods that software exposes for other code to use.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps review Java and Python snippets, constructor and method signatures, units, imports, class names, and runnable NeqSim examples before publication.
Why use it?
Examples can become misleading when classes, method names, arguments, units, or setup steps change. This identifies missing, deprecated, incorrectly called, or insufficiently tested API references.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00056 $0.00537
Opus 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00215
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00107
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00054

Security

Grade A, and why

paperlab-neqsim-api-claim-verification scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 27d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

PaperLab NeqSim API Claim Verification

When to Use

USE WHEN: a chapter mentions NeqSim classes, methods, constructors, units, notebook examples, or API workflows.

Pair with:

  • neqsim-in-writing for claim markers,
  • neqsim-api-patterns for current modeling patterns,
  • neqsim-notebook-patterns for devtools setup,
  • neqsim-java8-rules for Java snippet compatibility.

Verification Categories

Category Meaning
valid source confirms class/method/signature
deprecated API exists but should be avoided
wrong-signature class/method exists but arguments are wrong
missing-class referenced class does not exist
missing-method class exists but method does not
unit-risk method exists but unit convention is unclear or wrong
needs-test documentation example lacks runnable verification

Workflow

  1. Extract Java and Python code blocks, inline API names, notebook imports, and class references from chapter text.
  2. Search src/main/java/neqsim/ for each class and method.
  3. Read constructors and overloads before judging snippet correctness.
  4. Check for required NeqSim setup patterns: mixing rule, createDatabase(true) when needed, flash calculation, and initProperties() before transport property reads.
  5. For documentation examples, identify or propose a JUnit or notebook test.
  6. Emit minimal fixes with source-backed confidence.

Output Schema

{
  "chapter": "ch24_computational_tools_neqsim",
  "references": [
    {
      "symbol": "Cooler",
      "kind": "class",
      "status": "valid",
      "source": "src/main/java/neqsim/process/equipment/heatexchanger/Cooler.java",
      "evidence": "constructor Cooler(String, StreamInterface)",
      "recommendation": "none"
    }
  ]
}

Safety Rules

  • Do not assume API patterns; verify actual source.
  • All Java examples must remain Java 8 compatible.
  • Do not rewrite notebook setup to import installed stale NeqSim when devtools setup is required.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
