Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00165 | $0.01651 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00066 | $0.00660 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00033 | $0.00330 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00016 | $0.00165 |
Grade A, and why
save-script-to-skill scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 123 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
save-script-to-skill
A skill ran. To finish the job, Claude wrote a script and ran it. Next time the skill runs,
Claude would write that script again from scratch. This skill stops that: the script moves
into <skill dir>/scripts/, and the skill's SKILL.md says to RUN it.
The end state looks like this: a skill folder with a scripts/ subfolder holding a helper
that began as an ad hoc script written during a session, and a SKILL.md that runs it.
Arguments
Both optional. $1 is the skill name (default: the skill invoked last in this session).
$2 is the script, as a path or as the number the finder prints (default: ask, unless there
is exactly one clear candidate).
Steps
1. Find the skill and the script
Run the finder. It reads the session transcript, not your memory of the conversation:
python3 ~/.claude/skills/save-script-to-skill/scripts/find_session_scripts.py [--skill NAME]
It prints the skill, its directory, and every script written (Write/Edit of a .py, .sh,
.js ...) or run inline (heredoc, python3 -c) after that skill was invoked, with how many
times each ran and how many runs failed. --show N prints candidate N in full; --json for
all fields. Exit 3 means no skill was invoked in this session: ask the user which skill they mean
and pass --skill. If the transcript is not found (exit 2), pass --cwd <launch dir> or
--transcript <path>.
Pick the script:
- Skip the project's own code. A file that is part of the repo being worked on (a module,
a test, anything tracked by that repo's git) is the WORK, not a helper. The helper is the
one that did the skill's job: usually in a scratch or job
tmp/folder, or an inline heredoc. - Prefer the LAST version that ran without failing.
- If more than one real candidate is left, ask the user with
AskUserQuestion, one line each.
Stop and say why if:
- the skill directory is a plugin skill (
name:with-colon) or has noSKILL.mdyou can edit; - the script is a one-off tied to this session's data (it only makes sense for one file, one customer, one date). Say so and ask whether the user still wants it.
What ships with it
2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

save-script-to-skill is a skill published in the GitHub repository eranw2000/claude-maintenance-skills (8 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 165 tokens to every session and 1,651 once invoked, about $0.0007 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-24.
