copy-for-slack

A command that converts the previous assistant response into Slack-compatible formatting and copies it to the macOS clipboard. Slack is a team messaging app, and the clipboard stores text for pasting elsewhere.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after a response to convert headings, emphasis, lists, links, and code into Slack formatting and copy the result.
Why use it?
It avoids manually changing Markdown formatting before sharing an agent response in Slack.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00046 $0.00372
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00186
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00074
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00037

Security

Grade A, and why

copy-for-slack scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Copy for Slack Skill

Copies the last assistant message to the clipboard, converted to Slack-compatible formatting.

Usage

User says: "/copy-for-slack", "copy for slack", "copy that for slack"

Instructions

  1. Look at your most recent assistant message (before this skill was invoked)
  2. Convert the markdown to Slack-compatible format using these rules:
    • **bold***bold*
    • _italic_ or *italic* (single) → _italic_
    • ## Headings or ### Headings*Heading text* (bold, on its own line)
    • # Headings*Heading text* (bold, on its own line)
    • - list items• list items
    • Nested - items • items
    • [link text](url)<url|link text>
    • `inline code``inline code` (unchanged, Slack supports this)
    • Code fences () → (unchanged, Slack supports this)
    • > blockquotes> blockquotes (unchanged, Slack supports this)
    • Horizontal rules (---) → ———
    • Remove any HTML tags
  3. Copy the converted text to the clipboard using: pbcopy
  4. Report the character count and confirm it was copied
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
