write-product-slice

write-product-slice is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Espenandreass1/agentslice. It costs 27 tokens per session (195 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A planning workflow that turns product direction into one to three small candidate pieces of work. It recommends one option but does not write a full specification or code.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to propose the next user-visible improvement, with its value, likely changes, risks, non-goals, acceptance criteria, size, and areas that must not change.
Why use it?
It makes the next product decision easier to review by keeping proposals small and limiting the active list. Replaced ideas remain available in the project history instead of being deleted.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00027 $0.00195
Opus 5 $0.00014 $0.00097
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00039
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00019

Security

Grade A, and why

write-product-slice scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Write Product Slice

Read

Verify the canonical workspace and minimal preflight. Add vision, tech stack, live candidates, and policy only.

Guardrails

  • No concrete current user problem means no full slice/spec process.
  • Keep one to three candidates. Archive replaced proposals rather than accumulating them.
  • Identify the likely lane; uncertain or sensitive work is controlled-change.

Steps

  1. Confirm the problem, outcome, likely areas, and non-scope.
  2. Propose one to three candidates with likely lane and main risk.
  3. Recommend the smallest user-visible outcome.
  4. Update current planning docs only, set the planning phase, and stop for human scope approval.

Output

Give compact options, recommendation, and approval request. A formal PR will carry live implementation evidence.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
