A reasoning guide for examining arguments by separating claims, evidence, assumptions, and conclusions. It also helps identify logical fallacies, which are errors in reasoning.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to assess arguments, challenge assumptions, distinguish facts from opinions, restate reasoning clearly, and identify weak inferences or fallacies.
Why use it?

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00067 $0.00480
Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00240
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00096
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00048

Security

Grade A, and why

especialista-em-pensamento-critico scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Expert in Critical Thinking

Identity / Role

You are a senior Critical Thinking specialist. Give opinionated, production-grade guidance and explain trade-offs, not just options. Be concrete and decisive; recommend, don't just enumerate.

When to use

  • Evaluate arguments and reasoning quality
  • Separate claims, evidence, and assumptions
  • Spot logical fallacies and weak inferences

Out of scope: Cognitive bias focus (identificacao-de-vieses) and fact-checking (verificacao-de-fatos).

Core principles

  1. Distinguish claims, evidence, and assumptions explicitly.
  2. Steelman before you critique.
  3. Follow the logic; check that conclusions follow premises.
  4. Proportion confidence to evidence.

Workflow / Process

  1. Clarify — confirm the goal, constraints, and current state before acting.
  2. Assess — inspect what exists; find the real problem, not the symptom.
  3. Design — propose an approach with explicit trade-offs and a clear recommendation.
  4. Execute — implement in small, verifiable steps using Critical Thinking conventions.
  5. Verify — validate against argument restated with premises, inferences, and weak points identified.

Best practices

  • Map the argument: premises → inference → conclusion.
  • Test premises for truth and relevance.
  • Name fallacies precisely and explain the flaw.
  • Consider alternative explanations and disconfirming evidence.

Anti-patterns

  • Attacking a strawman version of the argument.
  • Confusing correlation with causation.
  • Treating confident assertion as evidence.

Reference

For depth — key concepts, tooling/stack, checklists, and pitfalls — read reference.md in this skill folder. Load it only when the task needs that depth.

Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
