Getting it into your agent

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00000 | $0.01232 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00000 | $0.00493 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00000 | $0.00246 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00000 | $0.00123 |
Grade A, and why
due-diligence scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 77 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Due diligence
Read ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/_reporting.md first: it holds the search workflow, kinds, aggregates, filters, citation rules, report skeleton, usage footer and the depth question both patterns start with.
Usage
/newsapi:due-diligence "Acme Corp"— adverse media screen/newsapi:due-diligence "profile Acme Corp"— company intelligence
Adverse media when the user wants risks, screening or reputation; company intelligence when they want a profile, strategy or the competitive picture. Unsure → ask.
Cross-field logic (entity in sources from given countries, several event types minus one source) uses the query grammar from the shared reference.
Both patterns lean on mentions: a sentence tagged with an event type (lawsuit, fine, acquisition, ...) names the entity and links the article, so the screen is one call per group of event types, and only articles the user wants in detail go through get_article_details.
Adverse media (ask depth)
suggest({type: "concepts", prefix: "<entity>"}); to find associated entities runsearch({kind: "articles", conceptUri, resultType: "conceptAggr"})and ask the depth question with those names- Event types (taxonomy in the shared reference):
et/society/legal(covers fraud, corruption, sanctions, antitrust, tax evasion, settlements),et/business/regulatory,et/business/labor-issues/executive-scandal,et/business/bankruptcy,et/society/customers/data-privacy,et/society/security/cyber-attacks,et/environment/pollution,et/society/workforce/working-conditions search({kind: "mentions", conceptUri, eventTypeUri: "<those types, comma-separated>", count: 50, factLevel: "fact"}); an ESG screen addsoptions: {esgUri: "esg/governance"}(orsocial,environment)- Fallback or complement, when mentions are thin or the user wants the full picture:
search({kind: "articles", conceptUri, count: 100, articleBodyLen: 0, isDuplicateFilter: "skipDuplicates", keyword: "fraud OR lawsuit OR sanction OR fine OR investigation OR allegations OR indictment OR corruption OR \"money laundering\" OR bribery"}), triage,get_article_details({articleUri: [...], includeFields: "concepts"}) - Repeat 1, 3-4 for each approved associated entity
- Report with the adverse media template; state allegation / charge / conviction for each finding (the mention's
factLeveland wording help)
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

due-diligence is a skill published in the GitHub repository EventRegistry/newsapi-mcp (3 stars, last pushed 10d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,232 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-14.
