praxis

praxis is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Facets-cloud/praxis-cli. It costs 68 tokens per session (1,398 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command-line skill for reaching organization-managed services and workflows from a local AI host. It covers cloud and Kubernetes access, New Relic, shared memory, duties, custom agents, task graphs, catalogs, migrations, and Slack updates.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when checking Praxis access, working with cloud or Kubernetes integrations, managing organization memory or duties, coordinating task graphs, handling migrations, or posting progress to Slack.
Why use it?
It gives one documented entry point for organization-specific operations instead of requiring separate skills for each service. It also helps distinguish identities, configuration, running state, and successful completion.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00068 $0.01398
Opus 5.5 $0.00027 $0.00559
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00280
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00140

Security

Grade A, and why

praxis scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 9 executable files (assets/web-component-template/src/theme/resolveFacetsTheme.js, assets/web-component-template/src/transport/cp.js, assets/web-component-template/vite.config.ts, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Praxis

Use Praxis to reach organization-managed capabilities from a local AI host. This is the consolidated CLI skill. Load its relevant references instead of the replaced global praxis-* skills. Organization/customer-specific skills remain complementary; a prefix alone does not make a skill obsolete.

Mental model

Local AI host
+-- praxis CLI -- selected identity --> Praxis gateway
  | +-- cloud / Kubernetes / New Relic
  | +-- memory / duties / agents / DAG
  | +-- ig catalogs / artifacts / Slack
+-- raptor CLI -----------------------> Facets control plane
+-- source checkout / approved runner -> code, builds, migration engines

Gateway identity != cloud integration != Facets deployment account
Configuration != running state != successful operation

Start at the task boundary

For live Praxis work, check praxis status --json: selected profile, URL, authentication and installed capabilities. Do not read credential files into the transcript. Existing context may already establish the target; ask only for missing scope that changes the work. Read-only repository work needs no login.

Discover deployed functions with praxis mcp --json; invoke them as praxis mcp <namespace> <function>. A cached manifest is a hint, not proof of current availability. Use --help for installed syntax and the references for meaning. Tool availability never implies permission to execute a mutation.

Use local raptor and its raptor skill for Facets operations, never a guessed praxis mcp raptor wrapper. Read that skill's task route before selecting an import/release/configuration command. If it is unavailable, name the missing dependency; do not substitute an obsolete prefixed recipe. Non-Facets work can continue without it. This package targets CLI hosts, not the hosted pod harness.

Unfold only what the task needs

Read the matching reference fully before acting. Add a second reference only when the task crosses that boundary; do not preload this directory.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

praxis is a skill published in the GitHub repository Facets-cloud/praxis-cli (2 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 68 tokens to every session and 1,398 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-07.
