humility-and-power

humility-and-power is a skill for Claude Code from fatihguner/foreman. It costs 106 tokens per session (3,793 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A leadership guide about staying humble as authority grows, noticing when people stop giving honest feedback, and keeping open connections with others.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to examine leadership behaviour, create channels for candid feedback, acknowledge weaknesses, and maintain trust with a team.
Why use it?
It helps leaders spot the isolation and distorted information that can develop when people are afraid to disagree with them.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00106 $0.03793
Opus 5 $0.00053 $0.01896
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00759
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00379

Security

Grade A, and why

humility-and-power scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Humility and Power

The moment you stop hearing bad news is the moment you should worry most. Not because bad news has ceased to exist, but because the people around you have decided it is safer to hide it than to share it. This is the signature symptom of power's corruption -- not the dramatic villainy of corporate scandal, but the quiet, incremental insulation that turns a connected leader into an isolated one. Power does not corrupt through a single moral failure. It corrupts through a thousand small adjustments: people laugh at jokes that are not funny, agree with ideas that are not sound, and withhold objections that need voicing. The leader, bathed in this artificial warmth, mistakes compliance for alignment and silence for agreement. Humility is the only reliable antidote, and it must be practised with the same discipline as any other leadership competency -- because power never stops working against it.

The Framework

The Corruption Mechanism

Power corrupts not through malice but through distortion. As a leader's authority grows, three things happen simultaneously:

First, attention narrows. Research consistently demonstrates that people at the top become less attentive to those below them. This is not callousness; it is cognitive economics. Power shifts the brain's attention toward goals and away from the people affected by those goals. The leader who does not deliberately counteract this drift will "not see" the people they lead -- and those people will know it.

Second, feedback filters tighten. Subordinates calibrate their honesty to the perceived safety of the environment. The more powerful the leader, the more subordinates manage information upward -- softening bad news, inflating good news, and withholding dissent. The leader receives an increasingly curated version of reality, and the gap between this version and actual reality widens with every rung of authority.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
