Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00101 | $0.04058 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00051 | $0.02029 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00020 | $0.00812 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00406 |
Grade A, and why
negotiation-mindset-and-self scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 228 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Read runtime and advisory rules before applying this skill. Other Foreman layers and the catalog are in ../../content/, relative to this SKILL.md.
Negotiation Mindset and Self-Management
Carrie Fisher once observed that everything is negotiable -- whether or not the negotiation is easy is another thing. The word itself derives from the Latin negotiatus: to carry on business. Not some business. Not the dramatic, table-pounding, term-sheet-waving kind. All of it. The founder who thinks negotiation begins when a term sheet lands on the desk has already lost dozens of negotiations that week -- with a co-founder over roadmap priorities, with an engineer over deadline expectations, with a landlord over lease terms, with a spouse over who handles school pickup so the pitch meeting can happen. The failure is not in technique. The failure is in identity. Most professionals do not see themselves as negotiators, and that blindness is extraordinarily expensive.
The Framework
Step 1: Adopt the Negotiator Identity
The single largest barrier to negotiating well is not recognising when a negotiation is happening. A strategic communication process aimed at making a deal or solving a problem -- that is the working definition. By this standard, anyone in a business role spends the majority of their waking hours negotiating. Founders spend closer to all of them.
The identity shift is concrete, not motivational. It means approaching every interaction with three questions:
- What outcome do I want from this conversation?
- What does the other party want?
- What is the gap, and how will I close it?
When these questions become habitual, conversations that previously felt like "just talking" reveal themselves as negotiation -- and become manageable with a framework rather than improvisation.
The cost of not seeing it: During the Cuban Missile Crisis, certain military advisers nearly triggered nuclear war because they treated ship positioning as a military operation rather than what it actually was -- a language of negotiation between Kennedy and Khrushchev. The example is extreme. The principle is universal. Misidentifying a negotiation as something else leads to the wrong actions, wrong tone, and wrong outcomes.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

negotiation-mindset-and-self is a skill published in the GitHub repository fatihguner/foreman (50 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 101 tokens to every session and 4,058 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-06.
