vacation-mode

vacation-mode is a skill for Claude Code from FernanMoreno/DomoAI. It costs 19 tokens per session (569 once invoked), scanned A, original, MPL-2.0.

A procedure for preparing a temporary vacation plan for connected devices and energy use. It reads the defined device scope and current safety state, then proposes bounded actions that expire.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define vacation coverage, inspect device availability, consider tariffs and forecasts, propose expiring savings or presence actions, and schedule an approved plan.
Why use it?
It helps reduce energy use or simulate presence while avoiding permanent authority and treating forecasts or simulations as guarantees. Changes still require validation and approval.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00019 $0.00569
Opus 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00228
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00114
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00057

Security

Grade A, and why

vacation-mode scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Vacation mode

This portable procedure creates a bounded, expiring proposal. It cannot create standing authority or turn simulation into a security guarantee.

Declared operations

  • discover_devices
  • get_state
  • get_energy_context
  • optimize_scenario
  • validate_plan
  • explain_solution
  • operator_approval
  • commit_or_schedule_bundle

Operation bindings

  • discover_devices → mcp.discover_devices (read)
  • get_state → mcp.get_state (read)
  • get_energy_context → mcp.get_energy_context (read)
  • optimize_scenario → mcp.optimize_scenario (proposal)
  • validate_plan → mcp.validate_plan (validation)
  • explain_solution → mcp.explain_solution (read)
  • operator_approval → operator.request_approval (approval)
  • commit_or_schedule_bundle → mcp.commit_or_schedule_bundle (mutation)

Procedure

  1. discover_devices — enumerate the explicit vacation policy scope.
  2. get_state — read availability and safety state; stop on stale context.
  3. get_energy_context — read bounded tariff and forecast assumptions.
  4. optimize_scenario — propose savings and presence actions with an expiry.
  5. validate_plan — bind every plan to current policy, authority and dependencies.
  6. explain_solution — distinguish simulation from real protection and list expiry.
  7. operator_approval — request approval for the exact finite bundle.
  8. commit_or_schedule_bundle — submit only the approved bundle for runtime admission and readback.

Safety rules

  • Every vacation action must have an explicit expiry and household/area scope.
  • Presence simulation is not a security guarantee; never disarm or unlock devices.
  • Do not create indefinite standing consent from a one-time vacation request.
  • Stale, unavailable, timed-out or unconfirmed actions stop with UNKNOWN.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

vacation-mode is a skill published in the GitHub repository FernanMoreno/DomoAI (0 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed MPL-2.0. It adds 19 tokens to every session and 569 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-08.
