pcb-project-intake

pcb-project-intake is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from fireostendere/mcp_diptrace. It costs 47 tokens per session (683 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A read-only intake process for DipTrace electronics projects. DipTrace is software for designing circuit boards, schematics, components, and connection layouts.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect board and schematic documents, design rules, component and pattern libraries, connectivity, file versions, units, sizes, and checksums.
Why use it?
It creates an evidence-based baseline before planning changes, separating facts in the project files from requirements that are still unknown.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00047 $0.00683
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00342
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00137
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00068

Security

Grade A, and why

pcb-project-intake scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

PCB project intake

Produce a read-only project baseline. Do not turn absent fields into assumed requirements. Use public tools/list for exact callable names and get_capabilities for document/configured feature availability.

Workflow

  1. Call diptrace_status, then get_capabilities.
  2. Resolve every named document with get_document_info; record kind, literal format version, document units, byte size, and SHA-256. Treat PCB, schematic, component library, and pattern library as different source types.
  3. Read only advertised models: get_board_model, get_schematic_model, get_design_rules, and get_connectivity_graph. Use count-only or paginated board reads when the response is large.
  4. Separate caller requirements from document facts. Record an unresolved requirement as blocked_by_input only when it changes topology, ratings, pin mapping, mechanical datum, units, or release criteria.
  5. Return the inventory through ../shared/result.schema.json.

Quantitative boundaries

  • All MCP geometry is millimetres even when root Units is inch or mil; preserve the literal root value as document evidence.
  • get_board_model accepts page limits from 1 through 500 and has a count-only mode; use the advertised byte budget instead of requesting the whole board.
  • One write transaction is limited to 100 staged operations and 500 conservatively counted affected objects/elements; the count may exceed unique physical objects. This skill never opens one.
  • A SHA-256 is exactly 64 lowercase hexadecimal characters. Never substitute a path or timestamp for document identity.

These limits come from server.py, capability_model.py, write_limits.py, and runtime get_capabilities; runtime values win.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pcb-project-intake is a skill published in the GitHub repository fireostendere/mcp_diptrace (22 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 47 tokens to every session and 683 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
