vault

vault is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from fisker086/AIOps. It costs 11 tokens per session (222 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A read-only connector for HashiCorp Vault, a service that stores secrets such as passwords, API keys, and certificates and controls access to them.

In plain words
What is it for?
List and read secrets, inspect policies and authentication methods, and check whether Vault is sealed or available.
Why use it?
It lets you inspect Vault's status, secret paths, authentication methods, and policies without changing stored data or access rules.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00011 $0.00222
Opus 5 $0.00005 $0.00111
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00044
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00022

Measured 6d ago against content hash 297d344e022e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

vault scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Vault Skill

Provides read-only HashiCorp Vault operations via HTTP API:

  • List KV secrets engines and paths
  • Read secrets at a given path
  • List auth methods
  • List and read policies
  • Check Vault status/seal state

Use builtin_vault tool with fields:

  • operation: one of "status", "list_secrets", "read_secret", "list_auth", "list_policies", "read_policy"
  • path: secret path (required for list_secrets/read_secret)
  • vault_url: Vault server URL (default: http://127.0.0.1:8200)
  • token: Vault token (from VAULT_TOKEN env var if not provided)
  • engine: KV secrets engine name (default: "secret")

Note: All operations are read-only. The token is used only for this request and never logged.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
