meeting-transcription

meeting-transcription is a skill for Codex from fiveonecode/agent-skills. It costs 56 tokens per session (1,184 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for turning long meeting recordings into checked rough transcripts, including recordings in multiple languages. It prepares the audio, transcribes it in sections, checks unusual results, and retries selected parts when needed.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create an auditable transcript from a local meeting audio file before producing summaries or updating other systems.
Why use it?
Long recordings can exceed model limits or produce incomplete sections, and a successful response does not necessarily mean the transcript is complete.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions Claude Code; mentions Codex.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00056 $0.01184
Opus 5 $0.00028 $0.00592
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00237
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00118

Security

Grade A, and why

meeting-transcription scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/test_transcribe_meeting_audio.sh, scripts/transcribe_meeting_audio.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Meeting Transcription

Purpose

Turn long local meeting audio into a validated transcript body without treating a successful model response as proof of quality. This skill owns media preparation, transcription, outlier detection, retry/rescue, assembly, and usage evidence. Downstream business summaries, CRM changes, knowledge-base updates, and customer communication remain the consuming repository's responsibility.

Dependencies

  • ffmpeg and ffprobe
  • node, jq, and shasum
  • The separately managed gemini-files-api skill
  • Gemini authentication configured outside this skill

Install the wrapper dependency and this skill into the same reviewed manager root before running the canonical command:

npx --yes [email protected] add fiveonecode/agent-skills \
  --skill gemini-files-api --agent codex --global --yes
npx --yes [email protected] add fiveonecode/agent-skills \
  --skill meeting-transcription --agent codex --global --yes
bash ~/.agents/skills/gemini-files-api/scripts/bootstrap.sh

For Claude Code, use the same two pinned commands with --agent claude-code; the bootstrap path is ~/.claude/skills/gemini-files-api/scripts/bootstrap.sh.

The script resolves the Gemini wrapper from:

  1. GEMINI_MM, when set;
  2. ${HOME}/.agents/skills/gemini-files-api/scripts/gemini-mm.mjs;
  3. ${HOME}/.claude/skills/gemini-files-api/scripts/gemini-mm.mjs;
  4. ${HOME}/.codex/skills/gemini-files-api/scripts/gemini-mm.mjs for legacy installs.

The bootstrap script follows the same root order and can be overridden with GEMINI_MM_BOOTSTRAP.

The wrapper must support --model, --temperature, --max-output-tokens, --json, --prompt, and --file, and return JSON containing text plus usageMetadata. The orchestration script intentionally omits model-specific thinking controls because supported knobs and levels vary by Gemini model family; a caller-selected model uses its compatible default.

Canonical Command

Run the bundled script from the installed skill directory:

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

meeting-transcription is a skill published in the GitHub repository fiveonecode/agent-skills (19 stars, last pushed 14d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 56 tokens to every session and 1,184 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
