tmuxy: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/release/SKILL.md

release is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from flplima/tmuxy. It costs 82 tokens per session (4,989 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A release checklist for shipping a tmuxy version through CI and Homebrew. CI is automated build and test work; Homebrew is a package manager that can install the resulting macOS build.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when cutting, tagging, publishing, or verifying a release, including waiting for commit and tag CI runs and checking that Homebrew serves the new version.
Why use it?
It reduces mistakes in version bumps, tagging, waiting for successful builds, and updating the Homebrew tap. The scripted steps stop when their required conditions are not met.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md.

This is flplima/tmuxy's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on tmuxy itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything tmuxy configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.04989
Opus 5.5 $0.00033 $0.01996
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00998
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00499

Measured 9d ago against content hash 7b45ad0dd1fa, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

release scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 224 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Release Workflow

Each step must succeed before the next. Never tag ahead of CI.

The mechanical steps are scripted under scripts/ in this skill directory; run them from the repo root. Each one refuses to proceed when its preconditions aren't met, so prefer them over doing the steps by hand.

Step Script
2. Wait for CI green .agents/skills/release/scripts/wait-ci commit [<sha>]
3. Bump the version .agents/skills/release/scripts/bump-version [<version>]
4. Pre-tag checklist manual — see §4, every box ticked before step 5
5. Tag and push .agents/skills/release/scripts/tag-and-push <version>
6. Wait for the tag run (publishes a PRE-release) .agents/skills/release/scripts/wait-ci tag <version>
7. Write the notes, use the build, then promote it .agents/skills/release/scripts/contributors for the Thanks section, gh release edit v<version> --notes-file <file>, install the published asset, then gh release edit v<version> --prerelease=false --latest — see §7 and §Release-candidate soak
8. Verify brew is ready .agents/skills/release/scripts/verify-release <version>

Step 7 is not optional and not a formality. The tap is bumped by the promotion, not by the tag, so verify-release reports the tap still on the previous version until you have promoted — that is the gate working, not a failure. Nothing reaches a brew upgrade until a human has run the build.

0. macOS signing (one-time setup)

The signing and notarization secrets, and why the DMG is notarized apart from the app: MACOS-SIGNING.md.

1. Land the change on main

Stage files explicitly, commit with a gitmoji prefix, push to origin/main. A push to main runs lint and tests and (when it touched the demo or UI sources) Deploy Demo. Build App does not run on a push to main — it triggers on tags, on a daily schedule, and on manual dispatch. The 3-platform build that matters for the release is the tag-triggered one in step 6, whose release job depends on build, upgrade-path and tests (the full suite re-run on the tag ref).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
