Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00050 | $0.05407 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00020 | $0.02163 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00010 | $0.01081 |

Grade A, and why
dependabot-remediation scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 375 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Dependabot Remediation
Turn one repository's open Dependabot security alerts into a few well-sized beads, then fix one bead at a time with native verification, separately confirmed publication and remote resolution observed rather than assumed. The objective is valuable security fixes, not zero alerts or dependency freshness. Routine Dependabot version-update PRs are out of scope.
/dependabot-remediation # plan: discover, triage, propose beads, create after confirmation, stop
/dependabot-remediation discover # the same plan with no tracker write at all
/dependabot-remediation fix <bead> # process one planned bead to a verified local commit, one push offer, one recheck
/dependabot-remediation recheck <bead> # re-read alert state for one planned bead
/skill:dependabot-remediation [mode] # Pi
Codex can request the skill by name. A fix bead picked through /next continues into
fix for that bead; an investigation or follow-up bead runs its recorded read-only task
and does not enter the fix pipeline. Nothing appended to the invocation widens source,
tracker, or remote authority.
Two runs, not one campaign
A plan run fetches alerts, validates fixes, triages duplicates and existing owners, and proposes a small set of beads; after confirmation it creates them and stops. It never edits a dependency. A fix run takes one bead to a verified local commit, one publication offer and one alert recheck, then stops. Neither run starts the next bead, a next batch, a watcher, PR triage or any follow-on maintenance; a new request starts another bounded run.
- Urgent fixes. Each eligible critical outcome gets a dedicated bead. Several alerts on one package are still one outcome and one bead.
- Normal fixes. The remaining eligible outcomes form batches of up to 5 fixes, grouped
by manifest so one batch is one lockfile, one diff and one verification cycle. At most 3
batch beads are created per plan run (
--batch-sizeand--max-batchesoverride). - Follow-up. When eligible fixes remain beyond those beads, one deferred follow-up bead wakes in 7 days to run a fresh plan. It is reused on rerun, never duplicated, and waking it does not start fixes.
- Residual risk. Held, unpatched, deferred and failed outcomes stay visible in the plan and on the beads. "Ignore" means not now, with a reason: never a GitHub dismissal or a false-positive claim. Development-only scope lowers ordering but is not automatically irrelevant. No bead is created per held package; offer an investigation only when it could change a decision (§3).
- Exception budget. During a fix run at most 2 outcomes may fall out of the bead because of an incompatible API, failing check or hidden major bump. A third failure stops the run at the last safe checkpoint; what passed is still verified and finalized. A limit may stop between checkpoints; never abandon a half-applied dependency change because the budget ran out.
- Separate requests. Major upgrades and migrations, general version updates, triaging, closing or merging existing Dependabot PRs, validation worktrees and prolonged deployment monitoring each need a new explicit request.
What ships with it
7 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

dependabot-remediation is a skill published in the GitHub repository flurdy/agent-skills (9 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 50 tokens to every session and 5,407 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-13.
