astro

astro is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from fmind/dot. It costs 47 tokens per session (1,721 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of project rules for building content-focused websites and web apps with Astro, a web framework that can render pages ahead of time or on a server. It covers page structure, styling, type checking, tests, and task commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create or maintain Astro sites, including static sites, server-rendered sites, and pages with interactive components.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent consistent guidance for Astro projects, reducing setup mistakes and choices that conflict with the project's conventions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00047 $0.01721
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00860
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00344
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00172

Security

Grade A, and why

astro scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (references/astro.config.mjs, references/vitest.config.ts), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Astro Standard

Astro builds content-driven websites and web apps with islands architecture and zero JavaScript by default. Shared TypeScript conventions come from typescript-stack; documentation sites can also evaluate hugo; deploy targets from firebase and cloud-run.

1. Core Stack

  • CLI & framework: astro via project scripts (pnpm astro, pnpm run build) or pnpm dlx create-astro@latest; every project pins astro in package.json with pnpm.
  • Architecture: zero JavaScript by default, partial hydration islands (client:load, client:idle, client:visible, client:only), Server Islands (server:defer), Content Layer API.
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS v4 via @tailwindcss/vite plugin in astro.config.mjs and @import "tailwindcss";; @astrojs/tailwind is deprecated.
  • Type safety: astro check with @astrojs/check and typescript; TypeScript 7 native compiler lacks the required programmatic API, so pin typescript@^5 in devDependencies.
  • Testing: pnpm exec vitest run with vitest.config.ts (getViteConfig); browser e2e via playwright against pnpm run preview.
  • Hygiene & audit: Knip detects unused dependencies; knip.json excuses task-only and CSS-imported packages; pnpm audit scans vulnerabilities.
  • Formatting: Prettier with prettier-plugin-astro formats .astro, .ts, .js, .css, .json; prettierignore leaves Markdown, TOML, and YAML to dprint.
  • Tasks & hooks: mise.toml exposes canonical tasks per mise; lefthook.yml wires pre-commit and pre-push per lefthook.

2. Scaffolding Workflow

  1. Create: pnpm create astro@latest <slug> --template minimal --install --no-git --no-ai --yes.
    • Templates: --template minimal (clean base), --template blog (content layer), --template starlight (documentation).
  2. Quality tools: pnpm add -D @astrojs/check "typescript@^5" prettier prettier-plugin-astro vitest knip.
  3. Tailwind CSS v4: pnpm add tailwindcss @tailwindcss/vite, wire the Vite plugin in astro.config.mjs, and add @import "tailwindcss"; to src/styles/global.css.
  4. Tasks and hooks: copy mise.toml, lefthook.yml, knip.json, prettierignore as .prettierignore, vitest.config.ts, dprint.json per dprint, and AGENTS.md.
  5. Validate: git init --initial-branch=main, mise trust, then mise run install, mise run format, mise run check, mise run test, mise run build.
  6. Finish: README.md per readme-agents, then git add . && git commit -m "chore: initial commit".

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
