clawstash: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/basic-sec-review/SKILL.md

basic-sec-review is a skill for Claude Code from fo0/clawstash. It costs 84 tokens per session (1,249 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A focused security audit for the current code changes or recent Git changes. It checks for common web vulnerabilities, including problems with authentication, permissions, secrets, injection, and unsafe data handling.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for security reviews of diffs, especially changes involving sign-in, payments, file uploads, deserialization, dynamic code, or public APIs.
Why use it?
A normal code review may not examine security threats in depth. This concentrates on the changed code and helps find vulnerabilities before high-risk changes are merged.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00084 $0.01249
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00500
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00250
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00125

Security

Grade A, and why

basic-sec-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Security Review — Focused Vulnerability Audit

When to Use

  • User says "/basic-sec-review", "security review", "audit for security", "check for vulnerabilities", "OWASP review"
  • After implementing auth, payment, file-upload, deserialization, dynamic-code, or external-integration code
  • Before merging high-risk PRs (auth, billing, admin endpoints, public APIs)

Scope Boundaries

Owns: the focused vulnerability audit of the current diff — the deeper pass the generic review's P0 Security category does not go into. Does not own: general code quality (basic-review), dependency-bot PR handling (pr), and not live incident response or secret rotation — a leaked live credential is surfaced to the user immediately and is not this skill's to rotate.

Scope

Diff-based by default. Full-codebase only on explicit user request (/basic-sec-review --full or "audit the whole codebase").

Workflow

1. git status + git diff → identify changed files
2. Read CLAUDE.md *Coding Conventions* + *Environment Variables* (full list: `agent_docs/env-vars.md`) → understand trust boundaries
3. Read every changed file completely
4. Evaluate against the OWASP-focused checklist below
5. Run security-relevant automated checks (see Tooling)
6. Fix findings inline (prefer over defer; security debt compounds)
7. Output standard Security Review Results table
8. For NOT-fixed findings → BACKLOG.md with explicit Sev: P0/P1

Coverage — the current OWASP Top 10, category by category

Work the current OWASP Top 10 systematically from your own knowledge of it — one deliberate pass per category, in order, on the code in scope. The taxonomy is not restated here: a frozen copy of it in this file would pin the audit to an outdated edition. Two obligations make the coverage checkable:

  • Every category gets a verdict. A category with nothing to report is ✅ Pass, not a silent omission. Coverage beats intuition — "looks fine" is not a pass.
  • Name the edition you worked from in the report footer (OWASP Top 10 edition: <year>) and tag every finding with its category id. The report's OWASP / Area column indexes into that taxonomy, so the ids must be the ones the named edition actually uses.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

basic-sec-review is a skill published in the GitHub repository fo0/clawstash (1 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 84 tokens to every session and 1,249 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-24.
