ios-upgrade-mobile-sdk-12-to-13

ios-upgrade-mobile-sdk-12-to-13 is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from forcedotcom/SalesforceMobileSDK-Templates. It costs 111 tokens per session (739 once invoked), scanned A, original, BSD-3-Clause.

An upgrade guide for iOS apps using Salesforce Mobile SDK 12.x, Salesforce's tools for connecting iPhone and iPad apps to Salesforce services. It moves the app to version 13.2.1 and covers required platform and API changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to detect SDK 12.x in CocoaPods or Swift Package Manager files, apply the documented migration steps, and troubleshoot build or behavior errors.
Why use it?
It helps avoid guessing which removed APIs, deployment settings, login changes, and runtime problems must be addressed during the SDK upgrade.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00111 $0.00739
Opus 5.5 $0.00044 $0.00296
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00148
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00074

Security

Grade A, and why

ios-upgrade-mobile-sdk-12-to-13 scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 23d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

iOS Salesforce Mobile SDK — Upgrade 12.x to 13.2.1

This skill upgrades an existing iOS app from Salesforce Mobile SDK 12.x to 13.2.1. It is consumed by autonomous coding agents — every reference file is self-contained and contains exact source-of-truth code, file paths, and CLI commands.

Detection Rules

Run these checks against the working directory before proceeding:

  1. Check Podfile for pod 'SalesforceSDKCore', '12. version string.
  2. Check Package.resolved for "SalesforceSDKCore" with version starting with 12..
  3. Check Package.swift dependencies for SalesforceMobileSDK-iOS-SPM pinned at version 12.x.
  4. If SDK 12 is detected AND pod 'SalesforceSDKCore', '13. (or equivalent SPM version) is NOT present → this skill applies.

Invariants

These hold regardless of the project shape (CocoaPods or SPM):

  • Do NOT recreate the Xcode project from scratch. Preserve all hand-maintained target configuration, signing settings, and scheme setup.
  • Do NOT rename or move app source files. Only the SDK version identifiers and any removed/renamed APIs change.
  • Do NOT change non-SDK build settings (bundle ID, signing identity, capabilities) unless the upgrade explicitly requires it.
  • Raise deployment target ONLY in both places simultaneously. The Podfile/Package.swift declaration AND the Xcode project's IPHONEOS_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET must match. A mismatch causes CocoaPods to refuse install or produces an archive that fails App Store validation.
  • After pod install, stage .xcworkspace and Podfile.lock changes but do NOT stage the full Pods/ directory. The Pods/ directory is a generated artifact; committing it bloats the repo and causes merge conflicts.
  • Never pass CODE_SIGNING_ALLOWED=NO to xcodebuild. It strips the keychain entitlement and silently breaks login after the upgrade.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
