SalesforceMobileSDK-Templates: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/test-template/SKILL.md

test-template is a skill for Claude Code from forcedotcom/SalesforceMobileSDK-Templates. It costs 10 tokens per session (1,245 once invoked), scanned A, original, BSD-3-Clause.

A testing guide for mobile-app templates, with a script that checks installation, dependency downloads, and iOS or Android builds. It supports testing one template, a platform, all templates, or custom SDK branches.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to test iOS and Android templates, choose specific SDK branches, and verify that generated projects build successfully.
Why use it?
It catches template and dependency problems before they reach users or downstream projects.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00010 $0.01245
Opus 5 $0.00005 $0.00622
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00249
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00125

Measured 8d ago against content hash 2c9301f73987, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

test-template scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Test Templates with test_template.sh

This skill documents testing templates in the Templates repository using the test_template.sh script.

Purpose

After modifying templates (adding, removing, or updating), you need to verify that:

  1. Template install.js runs successfully
  2. SDK dependencies are downloaded correctly
  3. Projects build successfully with Xcode (iOS) or Gradle (Android)

Prerequisites

  • Templates repo with changes committed locally
  • Know which templates to test (or test all)
  • Know which SDK branches to test against (if using custom branches)

Basic Usage

Test Specific Template

./test_template.sh --template iOSNativeSwiftTemplate

Test on Specific Platform

./test_template.sh --template ReactNativeTemplate --platform ios

Test All Templates

./test_template.sh

Testing with Custom SDK Branches

When testing template changes alongside SDK changes, you can override SDK dependencies:

iOS SDK Override

./test_template.sh \
  --msdk-ios-org wmathurin \
  --msdk-ios-branch feature/new-api \
  --template iOSNativeSwiftTemplate --platform ios

This modifies package.json sdkDependencies to use:

{
  "SalesforceMobileSDK-iOS": "https://github.com/wmathurin/SalesforceMobileSDK-iOS.git#feature/new-api"
}

Android SDK Override

./test_template.sh \
  --msdk-android-org wmathurin \
  --msdk-android-branch feature/new-api \
  --template AndroidNativeKotlinTemplate --platform android

React Native with All Overrides

./test_template.sh \
  --msdk-ios-branch my-feature \
  --msdk-android-branch my-feature \
  --rn-force-branch my-feature \
  --template ReactNativeTemplate

This overrides:

  • SalesforceMobileSDK-iOS dependency
  • SalesforceMobileSDK-Android dependency
  • react-native-force npm dependency

What Gets Tested

Tested:

  • install.js execution
  • SDK dependency download (to mobile_sdk/ directory)
  • CocoaPods installation (iOS)
  • Gradle dependency resolution (Android)
  • Xcode build (iOS)
  • Gradle build (Android)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

test-template is a skill published in the GitHub repository forcedotcom/SalesforceMobileSDK-Templates (58 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed BSD-3-Clause. It adds 10 tokens to every session and 1,245 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
