create-component

create-component is a skill for Claude Code from FouadMagdy01/RNCopilot. It costs 14 tokens per session (1,415 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A template for creating React Native UI components with the project's established Unistyles styling pattern. It asks for the component's name, location, properties, variants, and interaction needs.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scaffold shared or feature-specific components such as ProductCard or StatusBadge, including their TypeScript, styles, and export files.
Why use it?
It removes the need to remember the project's file layout, type definitions, and styling conventions each time you add a component.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00014 $0.01415
Opus 5 $0.00007 $0.00707
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00283
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00142

Measured 6d ago against content hash 9acc52bafee0, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

create-component scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 207 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Create UI Component

Scaffold a UI component following the project's exact unistyles variant pattern.

Gather Information

Ask the user for:

  1. Component name (PascalCase, e.g., "ProductCard", "StatusBadge")
  2. Location: common (src/common/components/) or feature-specific (src/features/<feature>/components/)
  3. Key props and whether it needs variants (size, variant, etc.)
  4. Interactive? Does it handle press events?

Steps

1. Create Component Directory

<ComponentName>/
├── <ComponentName>.tsx
├── <ComponentName>.types.ts
├── <ComponentName>.styles.ts
└── index.ts

2. Generate Types File

// <ComponentName>.types.ts
import type { ViewProps } from 'react-native';
import type { <ComponentName>StyleVariants } from './<ComponentName>.styles';

export interface <ComponentName>Props extends ViewProps, <ComponentName>StyleVariants {
  // Required props
  // Optional props with defaults documented
}

Type rules:

  • Extend appropriate RN base props (ViewProps, PressableProps, etc.)
  • Intersect with the style variants type from the .styles.ts file
  • Use import type for all type imports
  • Use project types from @/common/components/shared.types (e.g., ComponentSize)

3. Generate Styles File

Follow the exact pattern from Button.styles.ts:

// <ComponentName>.styles.ts
import { StyleSheet, type UnistylesVariants } from 'react-native-unistyles';

export const styles = StyleSheet.create((theme) => ({
  container: {
    // Base styles using theme tokens
    backgroundColor: theme.colors.background.surface,
    borderRadius: theme.metrics.borderRadius.md,
    padding: theme.metrics.spacing.p16,
    // Variants block for prop-driven style changes
    variants: {
      variant: {
        primary: { /* ... */ },
        secondary: { /* ... */ },
      },
      size: {
        sm: { padding: theme.metrics.spacing.p8 },
        md: { padding: theme.metrics.spacing.p12 },
        lg: { padding: theme.metrics.spacing.p16 },
      },
      disabled: {
        true: { opacity: 0.5 },
      },
    },
  },
  // Additional style targets with their own variants if needed
}));

export type <ComponentName>StyleVariants = UnistylesVariants<typeof styles>;

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
