Getting it into your agent

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00060 | $0.01789 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00024 | $0.00716 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00012 | $0.00358 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00006 | $0.00179 |
Grade A, and why
tropes scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 137 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
AI Writing Tropes Detection
Scan generated text for common AI writing patterns that make content sound artificial or formulaic. This skill provides a systematic workflow for identifying and eliminating tropes.
Source: tropes.fyi by ossama.is
Original gist: ossa-ma/f3baa9d2 — the raw 33-trope list this skill's references/ are structured from and extended.
Core Principle
Write like a human expert: varied, precise, and professional.
The goal is to find the "middle ground" between overly colloquial or casual writing and the obscure, formulaic style typical of AI generation. A single pattern used once is usually fine; the problem occurs when multiple tropes cluster together or when the same trope repeats throughout the text.
When to Check
Scan for tropes when:
- Generating any text content (documentation, comments, messages)
- Reviewing writing before committing or publishing
- Editing AI-generated drafts
- Responding to user questions or creating explanations
Detection Workflow
0. Load User Preferences
CRITICAL: User preferences live in office.*.json files (NOT Claude Code's settings.json). These are the office plugin's own preference files following the .claude/plugin-name.local.* convention with .json carriers. They do NOT participate in the harness four-layer settings merge — the merge is done by load-preferences.sh.
Run the loader script to get the merged preferences as a single JSON object:
bash ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/load-preferences.sh
The script reads up to four files in precedence order (highest first): .claude/office.local.json (project, personal) > .claude/office.json (project, shared) > ~/.claude/office.local.json (global, personal) > ~/.claude/office.json (global, shared). It deep-merges them (scalars replaced by higher layer, lists concatenated and deduped, pattern_caps deduped by id, dead_metaphors.entries by word), and prints the merged JSON to stdout. If jq is missing or all files are absent, it fails open to {} and default rules apply.
What ships with it
8 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

tropes is a skill published in the GitHub repository FradSer/dotclaude (593 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 60 tokens to every session and 1,789 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-24.
