swot-analysis

swot-analysis is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from fzfclee/consulting-skills. It costs 52 tokens per session (790 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A four-part view of a situation: internal strengths and weaknesses, plus external opportunities and threats. It is used to connect the assessment to strategic choices and actions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to assess a business, project, account, or decision when internal capabilities, external context, objectives, and constraints are known.
Why use it?
It provides a balanced snapshot before choosing a strategy, instead of focusing only on capabilities or outside conditions. It helps turn observations into decisions and risk responses.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00052 $0.00790
Opus 5 $0.00026 $0.00395
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00158
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00079

Security

Grade A, and why

swot-analysis scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

SWOT Analysis

Use this skill to run SWOT Analysis as a practical consulting method, not as a generic framework explanation.

Method Notes

  • Strengths and weaknesses are internal; opportunities and threats are external.
  • Turn the four quadrants into strategic moves, not a brainstorm archive.

Required Inputs

Collect or infer these inputs before execution:

  • objective
  • internal capabilities
  • external market or stakeholder context
  • constraints

If an input is missing, do not block automatically. Mark it as missing, state the assumption used, and add a validation action.

When Not To Use

Do not start with an empty four-box brainstorm. Use SWOT only after the decision scope and evidence are clear, and only when the synthesis will change a choice, risk response, or action.

Adjacent Methods

  • pestel-analysis: examine macro external forces in depth.
  • porter-five-forces: examine industry structure and profit pressure.
  • competitive-positioning: define the buyer-facing choice and proof versus alternatives.

Step-by-Step Execution

Step Required input How to execute Output
Frame objective Business, project, account, or decision scope. State the decision the SWOT should inform. SWOT objective.
Fill internal factors Capabilities, assets, constraints, performance, resources. List strengths and weaknesses that the actor can control or influence. Strengths and weaknesses.
Fill external factors Market, customer, competitor, regulatory, technology, stakeholder context. List opportunities and threats outside the actor's direct control. Opportunities and threats.
Prioritize factors Four-quadrant list and evidence. Rank by impact, urgency, addressability, and evidence strength. Priority SWOT factors.
Convert to moves Priority factors. Define SO, WO, ST, and WT moves or a smaller set of practical actions. Strategic action implications.

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

swot-analysis is a skill published in the GitHub repository fzfclee/consulting-skills (4 stars, last pushed 22d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 52 tokens to every session and 790 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
