Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00049 | $0.00976 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00020 | $0.00390 |

Grade A, and why
resource-aware-test-runs scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 75 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Resource-Aware Test Runs
Overview
Protect the user's interactive desktop while preserving honest verification. Focused tests come first; broad suites run when they are actually needed.
When to use
Use this when:
- Running tests locally on the user's Windows desktop.
- A repo's full suite is CPU-heavy, parallel, noisy, or known to cause lag/stutter.
- Doing TDD red/green loops where a full suite would be premature.
- Running Rust/Cargo tests or builds on Windows where multiple worktrees, agents, or long builds can contend for package-cache or artifact locks.
Do not use this to weaken release gates, CI requirements, or explicit user commands. If the user asks for an exact command, run that command or explain the risk before changing it.
Workflow
- Identify the target and script
- Inspect the repo's existing scripts and test runner before choosing flags.
- Prefer the repo's normal test command with the smallest relevant target added.
- Red loop: run the narrowest meaningful test
- Avoid full-suite runs while proving a new failing test or debugging one file.
- Use file, test-name, or package-level filters when available.
- Cap bursty JS test runs when interactivity matters
- For Vitest through npm, prefer:
npm test -- test/path/to/file.test.ts --minWorkers=1 --maxWorkers=2 --reporter=dot
- If running the whole Vitest suite with caps, set both
--minWorkersand--maxWorkers;--maxWorkersalone can conflict with a higher default minimum. - Use compact reporters for repeat loops, but rerun with normal output when diagnostics are needed.
- Save full verification for the boundary
- Run the broader lint/type/test/build gate before claiming completion when the change warrants it.
- Announce long or uncapped full-suite runs before starting them if they are likely to affect desktop responsiveness.
- If a full run is deferred because of cost or user preference, state exactly what was and was not verified.
- Handle Cargo contention on Windows deliberately
- If Cargo repeatedly prints
Blocking waiting for file lock on package cacheorartifact directory, check whether another build/test is active before starting another broad command. - For parallel worktrees or agent lanes, prefer a short, lane-specific
CARGO_TARGET_DIRsuch asC:\t\<repo-or-task>to reduce artifact-directory contention and long path pressure. - Keep the Cargo registry/package cache shared unless there is a specific reason to isolate it; most contention is acceptable waiting, while artifact locks often waste red/green time.
- For Rust tests that touch process-global state or static atomics, use targeted tests first and add
-- --test-threads=1when interleaving can invalidate the assertion. - Record the exact env vars, target dir, command, exit code, and whether the failure was a test assertion, compile failure, timeout, or lock wait.
What ships with it
2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

resource-aware-test-runs is a skill published in the GitHub repository GalaxyRuler/Galactic-skills (5 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 49 tokens to every session and 976 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-06.
