cdiff

cdiff is a skill for Claude Code from garrrikkotua/cdiff. It costs 62 tokens per session (377 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A browser-based viewer for the differences in your Git files, arranged in a file tree like VS Code. It highlights changed code and updates when files change.

In plain words
What is it for?
Reviewing working-directory changes, checking staged versus unstaged edits, and comparing two Git branches.
Why use it?
It lets you inspect all current edits in one place instead of reading terminal output or opening files one by one.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00062 $0.00377
Opus 5 $0.00031 $0.00188
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00038

Measured 6d ago against content hash 4028594562c3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

cdiff scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

/cdiff — Browser Diff Viewer

Opens a live-updating browser dashboard showing your current git diff.

Usage

Locate the cdiff install directory, then run:

_CDIFF=""
[ -d "${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../src" ] && _CDIFF="${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/.."
[ -z "$_CDIFF" ] && [ -d ~/.claude/skills/cdiff-viewer/src ] && _CDIFF=~/.claude/skills/cdiff-viewer
[ -z "$_CDIFF" ] && [ -d .claude/skills/cdiff-viewer/src ] && _CDIFF=.claude/skills/cdiff-viewer
echo "CDIFF_DIR: $_CDIFF"

Run cdiff to show working directory changes:

bun run "$_CDIFF/src/cli.ts"

To compare branches:

bun run "$_CDIFF/src/cli.ts" main..HEAD

Tell the user: "cdiff is running — check your browser. Press Ctrl+C in the terminal when done."

The viewer shows:

  • File tree sidebar with change indicators (M/A/D/R)
  • Syntax-highlighted unified or side-by-side diffs
  • Staged vs unstaged toggle
  • Dark/light theme
  • Live auto-refresh as files change
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
