A release workflow for comparing commits since the previous tag, choosing a major, minor, or patch version increase, and creating a release commit and tag. A tag is a named point in Git history used to mark a version.

It helps publish a new version, update package.json, create a Conventional Commit release message, run the project’s release script, and make an annotated Git tag.

It removes the need to manually inspect recent changes, decide the version change, update package metadata, and create the release tag.
