Gentleman.Dots is a personal development-environment configuration for Neovim, shells, terminal multiplexers, terminal emulators, and related command-line tools. Developers use it to install and configure a consistent coding setup, with an AI development layer managed separately through gentle-ai. The catalogue skills and instruction belong to that configured AI workflow.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5 | $0.00034 | $0.02129 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00017 | $0.01064 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00007 | $0.00426 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00003 | $0.00213 |
Grade A, and why
go-testing scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 356 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
When to Use
Use this skill when:
- Writing Go unit tests
- Testing Bubbletea TUI components
- Creating table-driven tests
- Adding integration tests
- Using golden file testing
Critical Patterns
Pattern 1: Table-Driven Tests
Standard Go pattern for multiple test cases:
func TestSomething(t *testing.T) {
tests := []struct {
name string
input string
expected string
wantErr bool
}{
{
name: "valid input",
input: "hello",
expected: "HELLO",
wantErr: false,
},
{
name: "empty input",
input: "",
expected: "",
wantErr: true,
},
}
for _, tt := range tests {
t.Run(tt.name, func(t *testing.T) {
result, err := ProcessInput(tt.input)
if (err != nil) != tt.wantErr {
t.Errorf("error = %v, wantErr %v", err, tt.wantErr)
return
}
if result != tt.expected {
t.Errorf("got %q, want %q", result, tt.expected)
}
})
}
}
Pattern 2: Bubbletea Model Testing
Test Model state transitions directly:
func TestModelUpdate(t *testing.T) {
m := NewModel()
// Simulate key press
newModel, _ := m.Update(tea.KeyMsg{Type: tea.KeyEnter})
m = newModel.(Model)
if m.Screen != ScreenMainMenu {
t.Errorf("expected ScreenMainMenu, got %v", m.Screen)
}
}
Pattern 3: Teatest Integration Tests
Use Charmbracelet's teatest for TUI testing:
func TestInteractiveFlow(t *testing.T) {
m := NewModel()
tm := teatest.NewTestModel(t, m)
// Send keys
tm.Send(tea.KeyMsg{Type: tea.KeyEnter})
tm.Send(tea.KeyMsg{Type: tea.KeyDown})
tm.Send(tea.KeyMsg{Type: tea.KeyEnter})
// Wait for model to update
tm.WaitFinished(t, teatest.WithDuration(time.Second))
// Get final model
finalModel := tm.FinalModel(t).(Model)
if finalModel.Screen != ExpectedScreen {
t.Errorf("wrong screen: got %v", finalModel.Screen)
}
}
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

go-testing is a skill published in the GitHub repository Gentleman-Programming/Gentleman.Dots (1,944 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 2,129 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
